    Hello,

    New here...

Having said that, anyone ever mix two or three different styles of dark Guinness together in a growler or something similar? Wanting feedback.

    Thanks!

Ah, yes - the classic "Black & Black".

    "Black, Blacker, Blackest"?

Oh, man, floating a nitro on top of a FES is too crazy not to work! I think I must try this now :sunglasses:.

I'm sure you'll get something tasty and drinkable, but am not so sure it'll be any better than the alternatives. They each tend to have their own charms to me.

I did this yesterday, floating a nitro draught Guinness on top of a FES. It was actually pretty damn nice-

When it all settled out it all looked the exact same color, even in the daylight- no "line" was detectable at all. But drinking it was a different matter, as the flavor changed mid-glass to become fuller, fruitier and richer (some sweetness). But the 'essence' of the flavor remained the same throughout, that typical roasty/ashy maltiness with a slight twang. I can definitely see doing it again some time.

I think I'll call it a Black On Black. Like my soul :sunglasses::wink:.

yep, the Scots have a drink similar to this, where they pour a strong 90/- scotch ale at the bottom of the glass, then top up w/a smaller 60/- beer, I think they called it 'Happy Day', this is a similar concoction. My wife an I call it it 'Give me another'.....

I've never heard anyone in Ireland suggest this and now, looking at the photo, I can't understand why not.

It's also a good way to break in the big mug before Oktoberfest season begins. :sunglasses:

I’m old fashioned, I’d prefer a Harp with that.
