Corridor Brewery & Provisions (2019)

Corridor recently posted that they've got a vienna lager on tap...I'm a huge fan of those, and typically find Corridor's non-hazies to be excellent, so I'll probably find my way over there in the next day or two...

 

Agreed @SeanBond , while I always enjoyed their hazebro efforts, they nailed a few Stouts, and was always a fun of their Belgians and especially their Grisette. Looking forward to another mid-August visit to Corridor to see what's on offer. Always worth it.

 

Forgot to mention--I swung by Friday afternoon to try out the Vienna lager. It was tasty, although slightly lighter on the Vienna malt than I like (I'm obsessed with Vienna malt). Very easy drinker, though, which is also important to me.

I ended up getting a couple 5 oz. pours of the margarita gose, which I really enjoyed as well; nice and full-bodied for a gose, and the fruit + salt captured the margarita feel they were going for (collab with Old Irving). Had a little pour of Rapunzel as well, which is always delicious.

 

Van Hazen is on currently (7/30) and we'll release a new hazy tomorrow (7/31) Midwest Fancy.

Brewing two hazies this week and Squeezit and Dueling Overalls next week. A lot of haze in the pipeline.

 

Here's a question--Any thoughts about doing more sours (like Brambi or Charm Stone) or hazy sour IPAs down the line? I'm always a fan of the ones you guys put out.

(I know, I know, there's only so much space!)

 

Totally agreed on Brambi. As long as it’s request hour, I would love to see Drink Me a Lot of Peaches and New Wave Dance Craze return.

Okay. Okay. Been a little busy trying to open a new brewpub. Here are some updates.

Squeezit will tap tomorrow (Tuesday, 8/27 @ 11am)
Squeezit can release will be Friday, 8/30 @ 2pm

Currently have (2) hazy offerings on Big League Juice and Midwest Fancy. (3) when Squeezit drops tomorrow.

Dueling Overalls will be transferred next week. So, there is a possibility (4) hazy offerings will be on next week after Labor Day.

Cosmic Juice Box and other hazy brews to follow in the weeks ahead, cheers.

 

How about updates on the new brewpubs? Is Lakeview one going to have it's own brew system/brewer or are you just piggy backing off Dryhops? What's the eta on the mag mile one?

EDIT: The beer is brewed at Dryhop and fermented at Roebuck.

 

Roebuck shares a wall with DryHop. So, we'll share the brewhouse, but have a separate fermentation and Serving Tank room in Roebuck. Steve Adams will be the head brewer for both Roebuck and DryHop. We have brought Zakk Nagy on as a full time assistant and to help Steve out. We will for the foreseeable future concentrating on Lagers and German ales at Roebuck with the emphasis on being a Neopolitan pizza restaurant first and foremost (the pizzas are exceptional). This in no way means we will be slacking on the beer. I am and always be proud that I was a lager brewer for the majority of my career. So, it will be a true lager experience with a few American twists. DryHop will concentrate on American hop forward and Belgian ales. Opening Friday, 9/6 @ Noon.

Crushed By Giants (River North) will be open in Spring/Summer 2020. This is a pretty hard target. So, barring any unforeseen circumstances it will not be delayed past this time frame. Brewhouse and fermenters have been ordered (15bbl system) and are currently being fabricated. Style wise we will be concentrating on the haze with a TBD head brewer.

 

Do Cans last an hour or is there a line right away and sell out.

 

Recently we have been going about six hours before being sold out. However, this is the first release on a holiday weekend since Memorial Day.

My friend wants to go to Corridor prior to the cubs game. Am I right to guess that Corridor is a shit show before cubs games?
