Good day BAs! Today's New Breakfast Beer:

 

Cisk Lager - Malta's best beer. Nice light lager with good malt finish.



In Malta now at a cafe seemingly hidden up a narrow walkway. Lots of these places.

 

Farson's Blue Label Amber Ale - from Malta 4.7% /abv.
Very much colonial British years inspired. It's got that malt character and fuggle-type hop flavor that is very much British.
Goes great with fresh escargot from the waters of Malta!

 

Some solid local again and this stuff $11 a 4 pack canned on 8/22/19 is really nice. Cheers all and tomorrow I promise to start giving likes to the people already drinking Octoberfest beers and pumpkin brews.

 

Dogs have been walked and fed, now it’s coffee time - Old Rasputin:



Creamy beige mousse like head with some rocks sits atop black liquid poured at 58 degrees; long cap retention; thick ring; moderately heavy lacing; thin legs. Burnt roast malt nose. Bitter roast malt, char taste; dark chocolate. Medium full body, moderate carbonation. Overall the bitter roast linger is a bit more than I want, but otherwise a great stout.

One of the Doctors I work with decided this wasn’t his thing and for over 10 months old, this is drinking nice, coffee didn’t fade as much as I would have expected.

I began my morning not with beer, but with 9 holes of walking golf. A couple holes got away from me (bad driving) but overall I was happy. It’s an easy, rinky dink 9-hole course around the corner that I learned to play on. You’d think by now I could par it So goes the game of golf.



Now is time for beer. Courtesy of @JayWhitson who generously got three uber-fresh Überbrew crowlers into my hands, including this Twin Berry, a delicious milkshake IPA with Cascade, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin, Strawberries, Boysenberries, Vanilla and Lactose. This is one of the better versions of this style I’ve had. It’s not overly sweet, the berries really shine through, and the body is quite light. The hops come through more on the nose, but offer some nice earthy, catty and grassy bitterness on the palate. Deft hands brewed this beer. Thanks J, and cheers to all on this holiday weekend!
