I am noticing from the responses a few things:
    • Some folks are getting burned out on NEIPAs/hazy.
    • Some are going back to/still love WCIPAs.
I think the above points are related because of the lower bitterness found in NEIPAs/hazy IPAs. I am not surprised by this, as bitterness is what has made an IPA be an IPA for quite a while now. I am not a huge fan of high bitterness but do love hoppy so I guess that is why I am the opposite of many here. This thread did inspire me to pick up a few old-school IPAs and after drinking a few I am good again for a while and will be mostly focused on Oktoberfests and Pumpkin Ales (oh and Founders Underground Mountain Brown as soon as I see it).

You say heavy percentage of IPAs on tap like it is a BAD Thing!!!! Too much is never enough !

I prefer IPAs with a nice malt backbone, so I'm annoyed by not being able to find anything but hazy, juicy milk-shakey New Englandey styles. I'm quite burned out on those.

Fortunately, Great Lakes Nosferatu is about to drop...

IPA's? No. DIPA's? Yeah, kinda. I still love a good imperial IPA but my lord is the market flooded with them. Every big new release from a brewery is an 8%+ juice bomb. Hell, many of them go above 10%.

I'm starting to appreciate IPA's below 7% ABV a lot more now. Hazy or clear.

I guess I am getting burnt out in the context of restaurants and what they are serving. It seems that IPAs are so predominant at the restaurants I go to that the American IPA is my most sampled style by far. Funny though, IPAs are not in my top favorite beer styles. Over the summer, my favorite pub/restaurant carried IPAs about 85% of their offerings. There were times when they had no stouts, brown ales, hefes, decent helles etc.

This seems like a very noble ambition/endeavor.

But that applies to most current threads. :astonished:

Yes, on top of the German imports I will be inevitably trying again. I think I will keep my search limited to only whatever I can find on shelves or on draft, which is still plenty!

...well, that's why you'll mostly find me on the WBAYDN thread, pretty much daily. It's the only thread where people can share, learn, and see what other beers are out there they might want to try without getting into pissing matches and pointless re-rinsing arguments about the same.damn.topic. Cheers!

Nope, not yet. Some of my friends are tiring of the juice bomb hazy IPA's; drinking less of them, and drinking more west coast hoppy IPA's.

I still enjoy the juicy low bitterness NEIPA's however but every now and then, I appreciate a well crafted west coast IPA and there is no shortage of them in California.

I am getting burned out on the milkshake IPA's though.

Don't get me wrong, I am still drinking IPAs, I'm just not as obsessed over them as I used to be.

Until wet hop season starts of course

I have been burned out on IPA for a LONG time.

Problem is that is about all they want to make anymore.

Would love to see other styles get some attention like Saison or Hefeweizens.

Proclamations Derivative single hopped pale ale is highly recommended. A nice 6% that drinks like an IPA. Full flavored but lighter in body. Galaxy or Mosaic variety...

Yes, I've drank Mothers IPA and Ozark IPA, both traditional American IPAs. I need to give my palette a rest. Much like drinking nothing but heavily peated Islay single malt.

If the opposite of burned out is excited, then I'm burned out. But really what I am is bored--so many samey IPAs. I haven't had an interesting one (IPA, DIPA, TIPA, the whole range) in more than a year, and I'm willing to give the ones in my area a try. The last one I had was distinctly disappointing. The upswing in availability of stouts, quads, and other strong dark beers that comes with fall and winter is very much welcomed in my household.

Hazy/NE Ipa's? No, not at all. For me, closest/best access locally is Casa Agria & Modern Times monthly releases. (monkish isn't an option)

I don't get burnt out of ipa because I always try to drink other styles in between my IPAs.

Not burnt out, but definitely been rebalancing my consumption for awhile now. Too many other great styles to enjoy while 90% of the taps are crazy IPAs and stouts.

Just got back from having a pint at Bier One in Newport Or. Tiny place with a masterful brewer. Had his new "The Friendliest" which also happens to be the town motto. A rock-solid WC IPA with stunning clarity, pungent pine/hop aroma and a nice drying bitterness on top of a nice cracker like body. Nope, I never get tired of this kind of IPA.
