What beer are you drinking now? #2507

At least a couple Oktoberfest beers this afternoon. Watching the hurricane closely as it’s supposed to head this direction. I won’t be here I’ll be working, wife is stressing about it. Hopefully it stays far enough out in the ocean to where it doesn’t have much effects on us, or anyone else.

 

I like Special K. Especially the one with Strawberries. But the sodium is a bit high because they need to preserve the fruit. It tastes good though, so the trade off is worth it for me.

Another beautiful day at the South Jersey Shore. The only disappointment today was this "Wild Saison" from Brotherton Brewing, which I just reviewed on the NBS thread. Although I'm finally starting to appreciate spontaneously fermented ales, this one lacked the hoped-for fruitiness and was much too bitter. Now I'll have to cleanse my palate with something dependable. Cheers!

God damn it feels like Autumn today. Loving it.

 

Just tapped my new Rauchbier today! Smoked with 60% house smoked dark Munich over a mix of hard and fruit woods. 6% ABV and 18 IBU. Used the Ayinger Bock Yeast strain.

First impression? Damnnnn, I finally got the signature Schlenkerla profile!... I'm so stoked. Rich, meaty smoke. Loveeee this!

Cool. I ask because 1. I spent time in Germany myself a couple moons ago (not near you) and 2. My Sister-in-law currently lives there (outside Neuss...so in the area it would seem) and was curious if you were near either.

Hey Ba's, hope everyone's enjoying this holiday weekend. Smoked some baby backs today over hickory/cherrywood. Enjoying them with a Lagunitas Hazy IPA and some baked beans with Thai chilies added.

 

Labor Day is made for outdoor jamming. Liking my setup right now.
