    Good Morning, BA'ers!

Sitting here at 3am, unable to sleep as my wisdom teeth were pulled yesterday and in a ton of pain. Allergic to meds, so dealing with pain via the beer route...after all, they did tell me a liquid diet!

And since they told me saltwater rinse...a Sea Quench ale is doing the trick .

Hope y'all have a great day!

Good morning BAs! Lots of wind, lots of rain, it must be coffee time - FBS:

Hurricane Dorian is creeping closer...it’s going to be a wet morning, but so far so good. Cheers from soggy Charleston, SC!

    Good morning BA
I bought this beer online and didn’t know it was 3 1/2 years old or had a Brett addition. To the seller's credit, it's marked bb February 2021...

I could have saved a little money by steeping two band aids in water and sniffing my armpit (after a 14 hour nightshift) before each drink. Wow! I wasn't going to drink any whiskey this morning, but I may have to pour a bit to get the taste out of my mouth.

No work until 0530 Monday. Cheers to an actual weekend off!

I’ve been up almost all night/morning, and have been alternating between coffees...a mid-morning coffee treat - Funky Buddha’s “Wide Awake It’s Morning (2018)”, an Imperial Maple Bacon Coffee Porter:

    4.75 | 4.75 | 4.5 | 4.5 | 4.5

Pours dark brown with ruby highlights at 56 degrees; thick tan foam of mixed bubbles; solid ring, long lasting cap; moderately heavy lacing; thin legs. Strong maple syrup nose; faint whiff of smoke. Flavors of maple, coffee, sweet toffee and caramel candy base; lite roast, char. Full body, slick feel; very little warmth for 9.5%; moderate minus carbonation. Overall the maple has held up well; I could smell the maple wafting from the glass at least a foot plus away; not too adjuncty; the bacon is more a liquid smoke taste, but the dominant taste and aroma is Mrs. Butterworth’s. Funky Buddha excels at flavored pastry stouts, and this beer is one of its best.

Color of light hazy gold with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of sweet malt tinged with orange and flowery hops. Not a heavy scent, rather mild actually, yet very clean.

This is not, I repeat not, a tart white wheat ale. Far from it, the flavor is rich and smooth with rounded depth. A spicy orange flavor is prominent but carries a dryness all the way to the finish. The malt is almost caramely but that may be partly due to the orange which remains a constant throughout. Simple flavors well interwoven, in short a class act.

Took the dogs for a walk around the block...wind was gusty (50-70mph) and the rain was driving sideways from the north...we got soaked! Looking for a little Sunshine in the middle of a hurricane:

Saw a few small tree limbs/branches down; feeling quite lucky, no damage in my immediate vicinity, and so far we still have power! In all, a good day to keep my fingers crossed, and drink some beers...best wishes for NC - Dorian is headed your way. Stay dry today, BAs!

Starting my day with this old standby.
Happy to hear that @DoctorZombies is weathering the storm. Hope other BAs on the southeast coast are holding up as well.

[IMG] The newest from Kettlehead Flow Switch with Galaxy, Mosaic, and Columbus hops. Pours a very attractive yellow orange like a glass of pineapple OJ with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves a massive ring of lace as it slowly settles. 4.75

Smell is pineapple, guava, tangerine, a hint of blueberry, and some mild apricot. 4.75

Taste follows a juicy explosion of pineapple, guava, and tangerine upfront with some blueberry, apricot, and a little grapefruit in the long lingering finish. 5

Mouthfeel is above average, a tad sticky not dry, soft and creamy on the palate, and packed with flavor but crazy drinkable at 8.0% ABV. 5

Overall once again they killed it, juicy with a little hit of bitterness in the finish another huge winner. 4.75

Clear amber gold color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of rich malt and pumpkin pie spices, particularly cinnamon.

Taste is malt forward on entry with spices kicking in mid palate. In the back of the palate leading into the finish there is a sharp burn which to me tasted of cinnamon with the heat of Habanero pepper. I like a clean finish on a beer and find this burn off putting.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Considering the makeup of the beer I don't know if more hop presence would be a benefit or if it would even be noticed due to the Habanero influence.
