SLOPPY SECONDS: SAVAGES (V2)

I enjoy them when done right but that's few and far between...but also I'm doing good recruiting out here lol

 

To ingratiate myself to you bastards, I'm going to throw out a long term LIF. For my wife's 40th birthday in February I took her on a surprise trip to New York City to see Phantom of the Opera. For my upcoming 40th birthday in November she is planning a trip for me but won't tell me where. Whoever guesses the closest city, as the crow flies, to where we go will win a box of beer from me. Tie-breaker goes to whoever guesses the first brewery we go to, because we all know there will be at least one.

 

I'm going Boston and Tree House.

 

It's been a while since I've had one, but I don't remember hating them.

 

Since it's November, I'm going to guess Tampa, and I'll say Cigar City Brewing.

 

Can we ask for clues?

 

Absolutely not.

 

You can ask, but I won't know anything other than we're going somewhere, likely the weekend before Thanksgiving. Bills are at home so unlikely since we both grew up in Buffalo and Sabres are in Florida, but they play Sunday/Monday so I doubt that's the trip.

 

I'll say Chicago for Bears v Giants on 11/24. First brewery Goose Island.

Speaking of porch incursions - I recently met up with @Joplamp while he was in town here. We had a bunch of beers and did a small, friendly exchange at Barrel Theory, and then parted as pals.

But then he dropped this box on me, and I wonder... how badly is he trying to encourage my diabetes? It's too late though - I'm two brownies deep, there's no going back now. Photos below:









Firstly - so many new beer and brewery ticks! Second, that box of snacks had me too curious to wait.... but they were really warm, so I threw them in the refrigerator while I started drinking for the evening. Third, that bottle of Arclight was a focal point of our conversation while Jordan was here... and if I recall, he said he didn't have too many more. Thank you for sacrificing one of these amazing bottles, dude! I'm really psyched about getting in to it.

Lastly - these caramel chocolate chip brownies are fantastic!

Whoever has Jordan as a sender... you're in for it; that guy is a beast! Thank you again, @Joplamp - I look forward to assembling your return-fire box!

 

I guess I should have waited for this post before throwing out the Bears/Giants game as a destination.
