What are the chances Mylar lasts til tomorrow night? Wondering if I should make a trip today or not.

Here now. Dead taproom for a Sunday. Anthony says Mylar will last the day.

HVB collab is amazing. Has this funny toothpaste flavor to it, or maybe it’s because I just came here straight from the dentist.

Football opening day, real football not soccer. Like beer, America does football better.

Oh no oh no. You’re not one of those are you? Oh dear.

And you’re talking about the game with massive pads, helmets etc - where the ball is passed from hand to hand? That “foot”ball? Vs the one where the ball is passed from foot to foot?

Although I’m not going to debase myself by giving too much praise to a Rock beer (ok yes it is good), I did get a pour of the HVB collab today at @frozyn’s stag party (sorry @Tallerboy - bachelor party) - thought it was awesome

It was the Hudson Valley event, and they had some Root + Branch stuff too. I think we were some of the first people there.

I love it when they hit that pineapple juice note really hard. It's why great batches of forever simcoe are among their best beers!

Is it possible that ACE might just be slightly overrated after all?

And as before, I don't mean that as a knock against it so much as a boost for all the other comparable top-shelf beers in the same style that OH churns out. It shares an airy plateau with fine company but it doesn't, in my view, own the mountaintop. We're better off that way, no, with such an abundance of quality?

Why else do you think I moved here? For the weather, the cheap housing, the manifold pleasures of the subway?

But seriously, when I do make it to one of these prestigious Olympiads, may god help me if I and my palate show more poorly than @frozyn. In that awful event, I'd go completely into hiding, never to be heard from again...

Yep, we took your crap sports and crap beer and made them better. George Washington > George III, Baseball > Cricket (if OH named their Pils Baseballs it would sell out before noon), and Football > Soccer (any NFL punter is tougher than whatever futbol guy). /'merica

I think the thing with ACE is just that it's available regularly and is consistently awesome. It's the standard by which I compare all NEIPA, fairly or not.

ACE is for the Citra heads? I'm not one of you guys, it's great but I won't marry it. Galaxy is my true love... Simcoe is my mistress.

All the single hop 8.5% are on point, which is your favorite is just personal taste (granted we're comparing peak batches, peak batch of your 4th place hops beats a weak batch of your favorite.)

Yeah, universally, and I include the ACE equivalent on the NE forum (very green by treehouse? Or whatever, what do I know?)
There are marginal improvements to be made by the stalwarts, but with a gun to my head, I take Space Diamonds, Mylar, and ACE in that order over anything other than 4th anniversary IPA (which I'm sure I overrated anyway due to nearly losing toes to frostbite to aquire it and will never again exist in exactly that form anyway). Suffice it to say, even in my South NJ station at this time, I can't say I've had anything worth waiting in line for if Mylar and ACE can last the day easy. But then again, I don't trade except among friends relatively locally, because I presume I'm a poser who couldn't identify a lactose infused IPA vs regular DIPA if I was given the Sug Knight treatment.
