SLOPPY SECONDS: SAVAGES (V2)

I'm still trying to power through the awful memories. Thankfully, I still have several bottles that you sent to dull the pain.

It was a sight to be seen, that's for sure.

I knew I had a box waiting from him but I only knew some of the contents. Holy cow.

Westbrook: Mexican Coffee Cake, Mexican Cake Triple Chocolate Vanilla Swirl, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Gose, There's Button Butter Than A Nice Pair Of Cam Pants (blonde barleywine with peanut butter, lactose, and vanilla)

I'm struggling with words, they all sound unspeakably awesome. The Mexican Cake variants sound incredible, I love strawberry in sours, you're feeding my Bhavana habit that you hooked me on, TWO pastry blonde barleywines, and a new brewery that you gave very high marks.

Just a curious question: Is it common behavior for us to go over so many different things when packing a box, or is this just me?

For instance, I first labor over what will be included.. (Am I including enough? Am I including everything? ...shit, here's that thing I was going to send, that I found in the fridge when I was looking for something else...now it's two months old, I had better drink that IPA rather than send an old one...I'll look for freshies)..then I'll get everything packed up and realize 'you know what? This may be better off in a shipper rather than a random box.' and unpack everything out of the gallon ziplock bags to put in a shipper rather than 2 to 3 cans to a bag...to realize, 'Damn! I was going to include some glassware, I'll need to put this in a regular box anyway!!'

Then, you get everything all taped up, and feel satisfied like a proud papa, shake it a few times to test the packing job and say, to yourself, but also out loud, 'these babies aren't going anywhere!'

And then you realize that, like, the MAIN DAMN THING you were wanting to send, the centerpiece to the whole damn box, is sitting right beside your foot and you have to cut the tape and find a way to snug in the extra bottle? Or worse, have to find a new box, because there's no way that it's all going to fit now?

Been there, done that.

I'm always super OCD when I pack boxes. I probably use way too much bubble wrap, take way too long deliberating (3 hours on 3 boxes yesterday) and then still check and double check.

Oh well. I tell myself it just means you care!
