    We have traded about 25 times. If you know Mike, I will send him four or six pints, and get eight to ten pints in return. Over time, I have become woefully behind in the amount of beer I owe him.

    Please allow me to tell a little story...

    After the last round, but before this one, a giant box appeared on my porch. With great effort I dragged it into my kitchen.

    Where I soon discovered that this was the work of one @LloydDobler . Completely unprovoked, mind you.

    I opened it to discover a note saying "read me now", a bag of noodles, and a MFing cooler.

    After reading a really touching, heartfelt note I head into the cooler and immediately discover a giant Polish flag (our shared heritage):

    Digging deeper in the cooler, I discover:

    That's NINE pounds of authentic Polish sausage and cheese and kraut pierogis. The sausage is from an old Polish shop Chris knows and absolutely tasted like Christmas Eve at my grandparents' house. I cooked up half of it and ate it with some homemade sauerkraut, amazing. The rest is in the freezer taunting me. Chris also included several handwritten recipes and cooking instructions, which are greatly appreciated.

    It's then that I notice another, smaller, box within the big box and open it:

    A Transient pastry stout, and two amazing BA barleywines that Chris hasn't even ticked himself. Beyond thoughtful and generous. A Savage with a heart of gold.

    Why am I talking about this now? Reasons.

    But since we’re being honest , some behind the scenes threats to my porch have not gone unnoticed . You know who you are .
