I'm not a huge fan of galaxy generally, but the flavor profile highlighted in this beer compliments the pilsner base extremely well. I was expecting a more of a juicy/pineapple forward profile, but the galaxy imparted (or accentuated) some spicy notes rather than just tropical fruit. Works really well in my opinion.

    Well here's a curiosity.

Post Shift pils is one of my go-to utility beers. I'm accustomed to seeing it a little bit hazy in the glass, but I just picked up a sixer that was canned in August, poured one, and lo, it's as clear as a Weihenstephaner Original. I don't think I've ever seen a crystal clear Post Shift before. Has anyone else noticed this?

Just curious, are you using the same glass or similar at least similar glass size/shape?

Yo Jack's Abby! What's your thoughts on the Octoberfest weekend being kid friendly during the day? I would like to come for lunch/early afternoon with the family, but only if you expect it to be cool for the family.

How cold was the can? If it was warmer, you could have just been seeing chill haze in the past. Although I imagine you would have noticed this before at some point.

Yes, standard operating procedure all the way.
It was as cold as usual, so far as I could tell.

I'm not suggesting they're hazy™ in the moderne hazebro fashion; there's usually just a slight haze that adds a touch of opacity. This evening's Post Shift was a model of unblemished clarity by contrast.

Yeah that's strange, I too am used to seeing a slight haze to it. Wish I had some in the house to investigate for research purposes.

I've popped another can and we're back to normal: The customary slight haze is there. A world restored.

Yes, we are not 21+ at any point during the weekend. There will be a live oom-pah, pizzas, and Octoberfest cookies. The Sunday is also our family day and there will be face painting and kids game in addition.

We are scratching our heads over here too. The most logical explanation is difference in temperature.

Lucky, I can only find PS canned in April near me.

Did you notice any difference in flavor? Or was it pretty consistent between the two cans?

Yup, I got it. Just sounds like you’re describing chill haze. Might not be that, but that’s what it sounds like.

If you have another can you could let it warm up for a while or drink it slower and see if it clears up.

Tried the Copper on draft tonight & enjoyed it much more than the canned version. Odd.

I had this at the brewery this past weekend and liked it better than copper legend.

Do you prefer either style over the other?

You mean generally speaking pale vs amber? The perfect version for me is somewhere in the middle but I've been leaning more towards the pale versions the past year or two.

Yup, amber vs. pale Oktoberfests in general.
