If anyone cares, there was zero line and lots of collab left, will see how it is

Also grabbed a bottle of stout, sucker for that wild Thai banana

I didn't go to today's release and so the paucity of opinions on the news beers is making me nuts- does anyone on here actually drink the beer!?

Kidding, but seriously, how the hell are the new beers? Is Orbit's banana profile "wild" or "domestic"? Is the collab really brunch in a can? Is the new Mmm...Fruit full of THC or why else did it sell out before the other beers? Inquiring minds want to know!

Sean.. I do hope this thread is read as much as we think it is, and your Mmmmm...fruit idea is realized.

Wasn’t planning to getting the Hudson valley crunchee collab but it was available when I got there, and have to say I’m glad I did. Not something I’d want to drink often but it was such a cool mix of flavors, and drinkable all things considered.

Had an Oh Dream, Broccoli and a triple Nelson today and the Broccoli wins for most flavorful/drinkable. Hadnt had that beer in forever. The aroma on Triple Nelson is great too, that white wine/grape/green apple.

Yea I wasn't crazy about the collab, there's a lot going on but I didn't think all those elements really meshed well.

Hit the taproom. The first thing that came to mind with the collab was "malt liquor". My expectation weren't high and remain unmet.

Orbit is a giant chocolate covered banana. It's definitely #1 in the giant chocolate covered banana beer category. Would make a great ice cream or milk shake. Brewed a little stronger could have been very interesting after a spell in an oak barrel.

Back home and can't wait to crack open my Stacks growler this evening. Thank god for the classics.

Wait, what?? How is this possible? They handed out wristbands, people waited in line, people swam across the Hudson to get this beer, impossible this beer isn’t great.

The collab is really good, but really weird. It's like peach cobbler. Like Westbrook's key lime pie but less sour, richer and creamier. Cinnamon sounds weird but works really well.

    Stout was delicious.

Hop showers still available? As of this morning it’s still listed by my luck I’ll make the trip for them to have sold out today.

When it comes to beer, we all subscribe to our own axioms if we subscribe to any at all, but this is mine:

A beer's actual, as opposed to its perceived, quality tends to decline in direct proportion to the amount of time and effort needed to obtain it, the number of breweries involved in its production, and the quantity of superfluous ingredients they used.

There are exceptions to every rule, of course, but this one has far more often than not guided me well and true.

I tried a taster of the stout in the taproom and I didn't really get a lot of the banana at all. I did have it right after a taster of the mmm fruit, so maybe that threw my palate off a bit. Will have to revisit it I guess. I grabbed a bottle but I'm going to give it to my friend.

I was looking up other kolsches that OH has brewed, with the intent to make some kind of snarky comment. Then the page brought me to Lime Green Galaxies, which was a legit good beer.

So no snark, instead a formal request for Lime Green Galaxies II; I know I can't be the only one.

Just as Grits N Greens didnt taste as pilsnery/kolchy as it was advertised, it was also quite a good diversion a la Lime Green Galaxies. I'd vote for a return for both of those.
