Just to be clear the brewery is called "Hop Butcher", the people who drink the product are the "Hop Bitchers".

Let us know where you’re staying/working and I’m sure you’ll get some suggestions for nearby stores that typically sell HB beers. You’ll have to be on the ball though. Cuz these are both new skus and those sell out ASAP

I'm seeing Bughouse (Canned last week) being dropped in the burbs and an IG post, but no word on Preserved in 3D yet (canned yesterday). They usually drop a day or 2 after canning

Bughouse is one of their better beers. Feels like a Green Moss/Double Grid mix just hits the spot for me.

For anyone looking, and in the area: south loop Binny’s still has about 5 cases each sitting on the floor as of about 5 minutes ago

Initial hot take: Bughouse Square > Preserved In Three Dimensions.

Bughouse has more of that citrus-y NE flavor, while Preserved has an odd peanut butter note that I don't find terribly appealing (it's certainly drinkable, though).

As always, just one idiot's opinion!

Well, this idiot agrees with you. Really liked Bughouse but, yes, there’s something in the Three Dimensions I’m drinking right now. I’m not sure about peanut butter for my palate, but I can definitely see why you’d perceive it that way.

Bughouse is good, very drinkable. Not as good as Double Grid. It’s lacking the complexities of HB’s best, but this is up there. Kind of straight citrus with a more interesting mouthfeel than their typical beer not sure if they did a different level of carbonation or lactose than normal to achieve that. The aroma is off the charts amazing, but not reflected in the flavor

Bughouse is fantastic and on par with the stack of Tree House beer currently in my fridge. #humblebrag

Bughouse is kind of acidic on the back end. Cant remember anything with this before from them.

Bug house is a sold beer imo really enjoyed it.

Preserved on the other hand, I could only get through half the can and drain poured it. Up front it isn’t bad but just about halfway through the sip and definitely in the finish, I get a rotten fruit flavor that just does not agree with me.

I’ve had beers that have an over ripe flavor before but to me and my palate this went past over ripe and into a place I am not a fan of.

Yeah, Preserved is a hop combo fail. That coconut flavor is just too intense. If it fades over time and allows a balance with the Simcoe it may be okay however fans of coconut or people stuck on a deserted islands for years may find this delicious. I'll revisit this beer every couple of weeks to see if it gets better if I don't pass the remaining 3 cans onto people.

That being said, how come no one is taking a BA stout and then dry hopping the heck out of it before bottling with Sabro? That would make for a coconut like stout.

So has Bughouse fallen off? Didn't get the citrus acid blast in my last can.
