Happy KBSaturday. With the fact that you can still find ‘19 around here, I guess it’s not a big deal if this goes year round.

I'm starting off the day with a Southern Tier NEIPA called Lake Shore Fog. It's bright gold and hazy with a nice, fluffy white head. As advertised, it is juicy and filled with tropical notes. Pineapple, grapefruit, mango, papaya, orange & peach are all on display. I'm not the biggest fan of NEIPAs, but this one was quite good. Lots of hoppiness.

I was thinking about attending some local Oktoberfest events today, but drinking this beer right now clinches staying home, since this will lead right into pregame beers for the Wisconsin/Michigan football game.

Have a nice Saturday BA. Will mostly be a typical weekend for me. Have a friend coming over tomorrow to hang out.

Prairie Barrel Aged Birthday Bomb. This was insane. Dense black pour. Great head retention/spotty lacing for the ABV. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, chili pepper, cinnamon, fudge, brownie batter, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal, roast, char bitterness; and chili pepper, bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; light slickness, sticky spice, chalky roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft sipping. Mild increasing warmth of 14.7%, pepper heat, and barrel booze. Nothing overwhelming. Perfectly balanced between super rich malts, fruity/nutty coffee, spices, and bourbon barrel presence/integration; mild earthy hops and fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Another world class stout from them. Glad I have a couple more.

This was amazing. Awesome head retention/spotty lacing for the ABV. Aromas and flavors of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, coconut, fudge, marshmallow, brownie batter, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, molasses, licorice, raisin, cherry, date, tobacco, and smoke. Some increasing booze in the aromas as it warms, but not too overwhelming. Mild herbal/roast bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Slight sticky hops, chalky roast, and bourbon/oak tannins. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness, no cloying/acrid roast. Dangerously smooth sipping; mildly increasing warmth of 13%, minimal barrel booze. This nails it for a dessert style as expected. Amazingly rich malt complexity, with perfectly balance flavorings, and barrel integration. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Well worth the price. Glad it is easy to find now.

When new albums come out with my favorite bands I usually listen to them for 3 days straight, depending how I feel about them.

Just went into my insurance policy and changed some stuff around that was irrelevant or not needed. A couple minor deductible changes, I am very low risk anyways. $230 save per year now, should have done that a long time ago. Thankfully the changes go into effect immediately. Geico is pretty good.

Insane NEDIPA as always. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied creamy, bready, grainy wheat/oats in the mouthfeel. Slight hop stickiness, with a touch of increasing lingering bitter dryness. Zero hop astringency. Dangerously drinkable for 9.3%, minimal warming ABV. One of the absolute best in the style I've had, smoothness is unmatched. Pure citrus/tropical fruit juice hop flavors, with a touch of dankness. Never overly sweet/heavy feeling on malts for the ABV; perfectly balanced. Super soft mouthfeel. Old Nation definitely has the best MI NEIPAs. These hold up extremely well over a few months. I prefer them with a bit of time actually, because they get even smoother/silkier. This was a 3 month old batch.
