I've been thinking about this idea for about a year now. Based on the popularity of NBS, I thought NTRW could be a great addition to the site. Many of us go to new places all the time, some good, some bad. Why not share the info?
While I have my ideas about what this could be, if it takes off I'm sure it will evolve organically.
Some of my thoughts I have had about this-
Any brewery serving on site, any bar with a notable beer list or possibly even a beer-centric restaurant could be eligible.
Of course "new" means new to you, not necessarily a newly opened place.
Tell us about the atmosphere, the service, the pricing, the location, the parking, the clientele and of course, the beer.
Do a BA review and add or link it to your post (or not), just like NBS.
You don't have to post "on site live", actually, posting when you return home (even on Sunday, Monday) you may have a better retrospective on the experience. However live posts promote feedback and questions that may be better answered while your there.
I am going to break that last thought today with my first post later, as I am at a brewery new to me while my wife works a tent here for her dog charity.

Share your opinion. Let's hear some comments on this idea.

I think this is a great idea. The ongoing threads with set criteria tend to be the best things in the forum so why not have more of them?

I've been thinking we should have something similar for "Blind Tastings" lately myself. If your idea takes off maybe I'll give that a shot as well.

Ooh- I'm about to pull the trigger on a blind tasting later today, but may as well post it in the WBAYDN thread. I'm usually good for a couple a year, though, in case a thread does become a regular thing.

    Okay, here we go.
I'm at Hop Culture in Colechester Connecticut. They opened in late spring, but I am just visititng now. Lucky me, they just tapped their "Field Beer" 6% Pale Ale, fresh hopped with their own Citra grown here. Wow, it's good.

This place is a 40 acre farm growing their own hops. The tap room is in an old barn thoroughly
updated with a new added on brew house. The place is filled with quirky antiques including two old tables with chairs topped like bottle caps.
Being a Saturday there are probably 150 people here at 3PM.
I actually got to talk with the brewer, she says that they only have a one barrel system and she brews 7 days a week to keep up, but they are in the process of installing a 5-barrel system.

Nice patio out back with live music. Unfortunately my pic makes the place look empty, but it is really busy here. Sometimes the tap line is 10 deep and sometimes you can walk right up to the bar.

Inside the streaming music is a good volume with a large variety. Something for everyone.

Overall I really like this place. Its about 35 minutes from my house, but I will be back. I almost feel guilty kicking off New Taproom Weekend with such a great place, but its for real.

Sounds really nice, and not too far from where my son's living these days. I'm not seeing your pics, though.

Not my first time here, though new to this thread and posting about it in general, I’m currently at the pFriem brewpub in Hood River, OR.

For those outside the PNW, we are not short of breweries chasing the title, but this is my pick for best brewery in the country (and probably the world). Across the street from a park on the Columbia River separating Oregon from Washington, pFriem excels at just about every style or category: hoppy stuff, lagers of all nationalities, Belgian styles (including some of the best fruited Lambic-style beers of my life), German styles, a great barrel program, etc. I’m in town for a Fresh Hop beer festival, and pFriem produces multiple and handles the specialty well. They give a hell of a brewery tour, and their branding and merch are on point too. The setting is amazing, and the brewery’s approach to making beer of any kind is nothing less than genius.

I have local breweries who are closer to my heart, but if I’m being objective, pFriem is the best complete package of any I’ve experienced.
