I’m confused by all these ham-fisted responses to a simple question.

Clearly, you should get this. Invite some friends over to watch (or play) a sporting event. It’ll be gone in an hour or two.

I also like the Hamm’s Special Light for its lower ABV, calories and it suits my lawnmower beer palate. Same price, which is about 14.99 for a 30 pack in PA.

Does it taste much different than regular Hamm's? It's pretty hard for me to imagine anything tasting much lighter (in flavor) than regular Hamm's.

Probably similar to my experience with Schaefer and Schaefer Light many years ago. Tasted watered down..

Hamms Light is still Hamms, just less so.

I remember buying Hamm's for about $8 a case when money was tight and you just needed a beer to drink. Not one of my present favorites, but it definitely brings back memories.

    Definitely a 'buy' at $12.99..

I don’t think anybody’s calling it their favorite beer. It’s just that it’s a solid AAL that’s far cheaper than it’s competition and probably a better beer than a good many. Of course palates vary, but I certainly wouldn’t call it a controversial beer, it’s very mainstream AAL.

Yes, it does taste different and lighter still but I like it for what it is. Perhaps the bitterness is a little more forward with less malt flavor.

Hamm's has been the house beer for my roommates and I for going on 3 years now. You really can't go wrong with it.

Re-reading this thread is causing me to crave Hamm's. I will pick up a 6 pack tomorrow (6 pints for $3.49 locally). Nice beer at that price!

Hamm’s is my favorite the budget brand Lager by far. $15 per 30 pack, often on sale for less (at Woodman’s for example), it’s just a no brainer pick-up to share with friends.

I’d take Hamm’s over Old Milwaukee, too, even though I do enjoy the letter from time to time. But I have never purchased a case of Budweiser.
