so was coco barrel aged or not? I'm seeing mixed answers across various social media, and having no mention of it officially seems strange to me.

Not the version that was released last Friday, but there are BA versions that were released in the past though - i think.

Word. I'm seeing this pop up in (no surprise) threads about secondary value that it (or at least a portion of it) spent 4-6 months in Apple Brandy barrels.

Same thing happened with Dos iirc? No mention of it being BA on any official social media, yet a portion of it was apparently BA.

Every release I've been to has had the same fun vibe too. just locals hanging out and shooting the shit over beers before getting through the line. Some times they tap a keg or open bottles/cans and pour for those they can get to. pretty much a tailgate for beer people, but i understand it might not be for everyone. :beers:

Dos was a blend of 50% BA and 50% non-BA, but yeah, like you are saying, it seems people are saying Coco has some BA but I don't think it actually was based on the IG post for it. "secondary market things" i guess... lol.

Exactly what I heard and wouldn't mind spending a few hours hanging out drinking beer as that's pretty much what I do with my buddies during shares anyway.. Heck I would even be willing to brink out the smoker and cook up some tri-tips like I do at the games anyway!

Ive had almost all their “barrel aged” beers, except maybe midnight robots and I think they are just okay. I must be hatin since I haven’t had their stuff tho right? If you’ve ever homebrewed before you’d know it’s not very hard to brew a huge thick stout. I think everyone understands that except this influx of new money ****s who bend the knee to any place with low bottle limits

someone let me know when these guys produce a quality IPA, pilsner, lager or saison. Until then, just glorified homebrewers that know had to separate a fool and his money.

Like someone mentioned above, making a huge thick syrupy stout is about the easiest of all brews. It hides all the flaws. If they were brewing these exact beers in massive quanities, nobody would pay more than $15 dollars for a bottle, and certainly wouldn't wait more than 12 seconds in a line.

    Can they brew anything else?

Their IPA collab with HPB didn't even taste like an IPA. It was fine? By fine, I mean it just tasted like juice from a grocery store.

That is to say, you will be waiting awhile...

I dunno...ugh...not trying to give 3 Chiefs any credit here because god knows imma haterrrr boi, but I have had many pretty meh to shitty stouts by numerous, very large, well respected breweries that make very nice pale ales, IPAs and lagers.

I feel bad for that location in general, no parking, and 2 other breweries within 1 block distance, plus you have Umami somewhat competing in the beer space too.

you would think it would be a problem, but in all honesty I remember when BF opened and most weekends they were not that busy. In the last 3-4 years since the development of the camp and the addition of the extra shops across the street they have only gotten busier and busier because guys would eat and then want to have a drink so they would just walk over. I mean I couldn't walk into BF on a weekend and find a seat the last 4-5 times I went. Plus parking isn't that bad on weekends and nights because most of the business in the center are closed anyway and you do have around 50 spaces of street parking... I've never seen bootleggers or gunwale ever get that busy..

On the other hand, those two breweries are still open and BF is not.

Have they announced any info on their membership or did that ever take place?

I believe their "membership" right now is in the same vein as what Monkish friends is and what HpB bottle friends was before it went to a full membership model.

But I have no first hand knowledge of that. I just have friends that constantly have multiples of the bottles they release.

What do you mean by that? HPB Beer Friends was pretty much what Bottle Friends is now except instead of having a secret list of friends you can sign up to join now.

As far as I know the TC membership doesn't actually exist.

Was the original HpB BottleFriends not just a special group of individuals, like regulars that got the perk of early purchases? If not, my mistake.

Replace it with the early adaptation of Alesmith Foundry, that was invite of old school regulars with obscene perks.

Yeah I heard the same thing from a buddy who attends all the releases. Basically they allow "their hardcore fans" an opportunity to double up on bottles which is pretty cool...

Are their buddies the same 25 people who bring chairs half a day early to every release? Or do those people not get the perks? I’d find it more hilarious if they don’t.
