That's hilarious and quite a feat considering the length of NG's long, curvy uphill driveway. Like it's a long enough driveway those cows must've really been determined to get there. I smell a cowspiracy. Looks like these cows ran interference while the ringleader made off with a wagonload of R&D bottles.

Looks like Double Spotted Cow wasn't enough and they were auditioning for 16x Spotted Cow.

This was great for PR. Any other cases of this with a brewery being overrun with animals from a flagship beers namesake?

For some reason this makes me think of the first episode of South Park....Moo moo, moo. Moo. (Oh, that was Carl's fault. He's new.)

This had to be a staged publicity stunt right?

(Though whether it was or not who really cares? New Glarus makes some great brews and has a beautiful brewery.)

New Glarus, the (IIRC) 16th largest brewery, sells every drop they make, in Wisconsin. Not sure how much publicity they really need.

I wonder if those cows are fed spent grain from the brewery, and when the got out, they just followed their noses back to the source. Cows ain't too bright.

They're so smart that they play dumb. They're actually aliens spying on us, and they gauge our intelligence when they see/hear us mooing at them as we drive by. :scream:

Just watched the video and have to wonder if that's the original brewery. Anyone know?

If it's the original, isn't there usually a herd of cows just across the road? They weren't out of line, just being neighborly. ;-)

Well, I used to live next door to a dairy farm, and, when the farmer wanted the cows in, he would just yell " cow cow cow" a few times. They would come trotting down the hill.

You get one cow to do a thing, the rest happily follow along. Cows are cute, and, they give us all the awesome dairy products, but, smart?.........

I don't think so based on my amateur research and Google-Fu skills. My best guess is that it was the back side of the brewery on the production side where the employees park:

Compare that with a screenshot from the video:

The concrete slab vs. the asphalt lot, parking spots, and overhead roof all seem to match up. It also matches up with the detail in the story where it talks about the police and security use their cars to keep them corralled in until the farmer came to get them. That being said, unless the cows all came through the back driveway by walking along the highway, that's a lot of territory they had to cover to get stuck back in there.

Yes, I should be working and yes, I'm bored.
