At Quarter Celtic Brewpub for football, beer and dinner. Crimson Lass Irish Red Ale.

As expected but still not thrilled with the score. But Eagles haven't lost yet, still plenty of opportunities there for them to drop passes though.

Victory Twisted Monkey. Excellent Belgian Blonde. Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart/tangy mangoes, fruit skin, melon, lemon, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, and light banana/bubblegum yeast; with moderate cracker, white bready malts; light herbal, floral, woody, grassy hops and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness; light herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light fruit tang/acidis in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy/tangy/carbonated dryness; no pucker/astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 5.8%. Awesome balance of juicy fruits, Belgian yeast; with a clean pils malt backbone, and solid earthy Tettnang hop presence. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Spot on style all around, this should have a way better average.

Peach Cobbler Double Milkshake by Tired Hands

 

Foam Bonus Track 19 with Mosaic, Blood Orange, Tangerine, and Apricot. 9.5%. Like fresh squeezed blood OJ hopped with Mosaic. And scary drinkable. This beer delivers on the fruit and the hops. Awesome.

The problem is that if you feel like you need a break - to take a vacation day, at least in my case, you need a 2 week approval. I can't just call in and say I'm going to take a vacation day so I'm forced to take a sick day, that's just the reality of the situation.

 

This beer’s supposed to be good and yeah, it is. Hey, doesn’t anybody have to work tomorrow ( me with hand raised ).

 

Spates Octoberfest.

 

I generally like 5 Stone's fresh fruit APA/IPAs but their fruit and field beers seem to fall short, at least to my tastes. Lightning Bug was excellent but I've been unable to be here most times when it's available. I did see some of their brews at one of the local HEBs this afternoon. Too much shopping to get there (brewery) today but we'll try again tomorrow.
