In Philadelphia for the weekend attending my sisters wedding. Not really sure how to post pictures direct all on my phone yet... so I'm over at City Tap House trying Zombie Dust for the first time and......... my god thats good.

Drinking Blågul. 5% abv. One of Carlsberg Sweden's budget brands which was recently reduced in abv from 5.2% to 5% in order to save some money I imagine. Colorwise it is lightly amber like alot of Carlsberg Sweden beers. Aromawise it is lightly fruity and not much else. The flavor is very dry with some faint malt and fruitiness from the yeast and a very mild bitterness. I've always felt that this beer was their weakest one when it comes to flavor and I don't think the abv cut made it any favors. Color is obviously cheap when it comes to beer, it doesn't necessarily mean more flavor of any kind. This tastes like a hollowed out beer to me. There are other budget brands that deliver more than this beer does, and the branded beers aren't much more expensive anyway.

Founders CBS 2018. A well-deserved after work beer (is there an english word for that or is it only Danes who have a word for the beer you drink after work?). Only ever had the 2016 before so when I saw this on the tap list I had to go for it. Thoroughly enjoying it, a really well-balanced stout. It's crazy expensive over here but I wouldn't think twice about buying it again.

 

Truer words have never been spoken about Zombie Dust, cheers to your sister.

 

You need to keep coming north and bringing the heat with you. I heard the weathers going to be great this weekend.

On vacation until the 17th of October so I’m going to act like it when I can. I’ve already been to the beach and now back at the house by the pool. I thought I’d be closing it up when my work trip was over, but we’ve had nice weather with warm nights. Cheers BA! Raleigh’s Brewery Bhavana Pilsner in the glass.

 

It's a beautiful fall day and the windows are open. I'm having a Terrapin Jazz Cabbage Hemp IPA. It definitely has a hemp/weed aroma, but it's not overwhelming. There's citrusy hops in the nose as well. The taste is dank, but not overly pronounced. If they decided to market it as a WCIPA it would find a niche there. Malts balance out the hops nicely for an overall good beer.

 

Jeez BAs, I go away for a minute (read: long time) and you folks are reduced to ONE MEASLY PAGE of wbaydn at 2:30 on a Friday? Yikes, what am I (maybe) coming back to here?
