    Good morning BAs,

Summer is behind us now, I am enjoying Duvel Tripel Hop Citra.

A certain long gone member made a return in yesterday’s thread. For a number of months if not years, the Saturday thread hasn’t reached the glorious 20 pages. Without being that ambitious, could we try for at least 15 today?

    Unleash the beast! 3-2-1, GO!

    Cheers!

Have a nice Saturday BA. Almost out of stuff to review again, but have a couple boxes coming in the mail next week. The one from Tavour is going to be massive, invoice said I spent $400 on it :grimacing:. Going to try and cool it down on the purchases for this months box.

Evil Twin Decadent Delight II. This was amazing. Only one in the series we saw locally. Hope to find the other 3 somehow. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, peanut butter, marshmallow, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, fudge, brownie batter, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with light notes of molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Very mild herbal, grass, pepper, roast, char bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; slight slickness, sticky hops, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering hop/roast bitter dryness; zero cloying, acrid, astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft sipping, mild increasing warmth of 11.7% after the finish. Perfectly balanced between super rich malts, peanut butter, and marshmallow flavorings; with mild earthy hops and fruity yeast presence. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Not overwhelming on any aspect. Top tier quality stuff as usual.

Pumking is always world class for me. Aromas and flavors of huge pumpkin, seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, toasted pie crust, caramel, brown sugar, and light herbal hops. Light-moderate herbal hop/spice bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; balanced bready/grainy creaminess and hop/spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy dryness, never astringent. Super drinkable, minimal warming 8.6%. This feels more balanced fresh than it used to be years ago. I used prefer it with some age to balance out the spices, but it seems to be good to go immediately these last few years. Not overwhelming on any aspect. Will definitely buy more while I can. Almost gone off the shelf in most places, but got another pack this week. Warlock seems to stay around for a while though.

15 pages is certainly ambitious. Maybe we can rewind the clock. I'll be available after 3pm est, unless I convince myself to drink earlier. :beers:

Still tasting fantastic. Aromas and flavors of huge mango, honeydew melon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread dough, spicy rye malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied with balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resin/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Minimal warming ABV, dangerously smooth. Insane dankness across the board. This is basically just imperial Born Yesterday IMO, very similar if not the same hops. Ekuanot, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic was the first batch, probably similar here. This has all of the same dankness at a much higher ABV, while remaining well attenuated and not overly sweet for over 11.7%. Mosaic and Ekuanot are my favorite hops.

    Really enjoying the new album.

Fantastic as always, haven't had 90 Minute in a good 5 years until recently. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Very smooth/soft, not aggressive, minimal warming 9%. Fantastic Simcoe/Amarillo profile as always. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized dark/bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Will buy more often moving forward, as with 60 Minute.

Fantastic English porter as usual. Flavors of big toasted coconut, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, dark bread, marshmallow, and light coffee/dark fruits. Light balancing roast bitterness against sweetness; with an amazing creamy/silky/velvety medium-plus body; light touch of sticky spice, chalky roast character, and dryness. Definitely my top favorite coconut beer, but there are others I buy more often. Wish this was year round. I always buy a ton of it every year. Was a lot easier to find in the last couple years. Just sits on the shelf now.

Good morning/afternoon BAs. Ava and I have returned from our walk to the park, so it’s breakfast for me - Founder’s “Better Half”:

    8-27-18. 4.75 | 4.5 | 4.75 | 4.5 | 4.75

At 57 degrees pours a deep amber (18+) with excellent clarity; ecru/beige rocky head; long lasting cap; heavy ring, moderately heavy lacing; thin legs. Toffee, caramel, bourbon, oak, maple syrup nose. Taste follows nose; sweet caramel malt base; no hop bitterness left; oak and maple middle; brown sugar, boozy candy finish. Medium plus body; silky smooth feel; moderate carbonation; warmth from 12.7%; dry oak linger coats tongue. Overall an amazing BBA commercial old ale that delivers what the brewer promised; nice balance between sweet and the bourbon barrel notes; maple candy finish and enough alcohol presence to keep me interested; a delicious sipper.

Our local Green Bench Brewing is hosting today’s Zwanze event. I don’t have a ticket, but I’m hoping to make the after party that starts at 4pm. Have a great Saturday y’all!

Good day BAs! Starting off as another overcast day here in New Braunfels - may not even hit 100 F. I'm definitely enjoying the heat - daily a good 20 - 30 degrees warmer than home. When I get home it'll be time to bring JoeBob inside before he starts to think about brumation. He's big enough and aggressive enough that I'll have to bring his outside tank in as well. Mrs. Lizard'll love that! Today's New Breakfast Beer is:

    Quite nice!

Ian, I've been purchasing from Tavour for a couple of years now with no issues. Last month they switched deliveries from a semi-local company out of Harrisburg to UPS. Consequently, this month's delivery was totally messed up - didn't show in tracking, took 20 days, didn't show up when scheduled, received no notification of where the box finally landed (Still haven't been notified), box ended up in wrong facility, etc. This month my order from Tavour is incredibly light - like one beer, ordered before last month's fiasco. Have you had any problem and how do your deliveries arrive?
