They had it on draught in LZ when I picked up my F Stop last week.

f-stop was perfectly drinkable, as are most of their ipa's.

i've tried about 7 or 8, and i stopped seeking cans awhile ago.

the ratings are severely inflated IMO. but i've also felt this way about HB recently as well, so perhaps it's simply a bit of fatigue on my part

Mikerphone deserves bashing for their canning and overall whining on social media about some things, but he has said things like how their beer has gone downhill and all tastes awful now which is objectively wrong.

A majority of imperial hazy beer is a at least quarter point higher than it should be in terms of quality.

But untapped is set up for “how much do you like the beer” vs “how well is this beer made”

This is more or less why I stopped seeking out specific hazies unless I had other reasons outside of "this beer is amazing." There's too much similarity within the NE style (which was inevitable, so I'm not really complaining), and people's tastes vary so much from day to day that I don't find it very helpful any more.

Hell, every hazy thread (at least in this part of the forum) is basically "this beer is AMAAAAZING" versus "I thought it was horrible, are you smoking crack?"

While most people will think your comment is amazing, I thought it was awful. Your last batch of comments were better. Let’s hope you dial it in for the next batch.

Not going to engage your post because its the P3 thread, but you're absolutely delusional if you think Mikerphone hasn't released a ton of shitty beer in the past 18 months.

Joke's on you, I just release a shitload of comments into the wild and see what sticks.
I also am genuinely in these threads for the drama; there's only so much I can discuss the weekly hops.

They’re pretty cold takes so they shouldn’t go bad for a while.

@beardown2489 agree completely, and i think most of us are guilty of inflating scores.

    i've personally taken to ranking beers in the following tiers;

3-3.5 - a resounding "meh" and don't ever need to try again

    3.75 - 4 - would order a full pour off a menu, buy a single or split a 4 pack with a buddy

4.25 - 4.5 - would happily purchase a 4pack or more, and worth seeking it out when it drops

4.75+ - you don't wanna know how far I would go to procure this liquid ecstasy

It is weird that we have a pretty broad scale and things tend to bunch in the 3.75-4.75 range for a lot of beer.

I've always thought of it this way. Something below a 2 seems like it should be horrible, an abject failure. Something below a 3 but above a 2.0 means it wasn't a good effort, but had some redeeming qualities. I just don't drink that many beers that fall into those categories for me.

I feel the same, but I like to think it's that A) breweries generally make at least above-average beer (try not to think about this statistically) and B) at this point I tend to drink beer from known quantities who aren't going to random drop a 2.5/5 beer on me.

Couldn’t agree more on how reviews are based on Untappd. If every P3 and Hop Butcher beer is being ranked a 5.0 by someone then how do you rank the true top tier beers by their brand. I like the in depth reviews people give on BA. I would like to see BA bring their own version of Untappd to the smart phone app market
