No, there were 15 people in line and a case pp.

Unless 4000 people showed up later in the day.

Like I said, I got a lot of cherry and I found it semi-thick and sticky, going to syrupy. Side Project states that The Scribe is a mead inspired Belgian Quad.

Weeeeirrrd. And here I was in a separate thread talking about how I hated some braggots and other such beers in the past. Still suppose I'd be interested in giving it a try.

There's no honey in it. It's not a braggot.

Ok, I’ll say it. I’m sure others are thinking it. I don’t understand Corey’s decision to make pn10 the surprise to go bottle at zwanze. It had already been announced to be the following day’s public to go release, it was 6 pp at zwanze, apparently it was 12 pp on Sunday, and it certainly did not have the feel of a special bottle akin to tete v15, tete v16 and FdF of the former three years. Please don’t call me “entitled”, as I did not feel entitled to anything different or “better” than pn10 as my to go bottle Saturday, but just felt disappointed and let down by it. Certainly the amazing pours of d12, bbt1, morning vibes, coconut vibes b2, magic lambic, st lam grand cru, Nath, unblended, and tete v16 more than made up for it. Nonetheless, I am confused about Corey’s decision to make pn10 the surprise to go bottle and was curious on others’ thoughts. Thanks!

yes. timing comes into play for sure. pn10 while not a fan favorite maybe, I think it's damn good. i'm more interested in unique sours over the super dry acidic anyway.

I’d heard rumor of PN10 several weeks ago so that was what I expected. Once they announced the Sunday release, I would have been surprised if it was something else. I’m sure what they had ready played a role in it.

@coryking might be willing to chime in.

Your statement is a good example of the false sense of entitlement that surrounds a growing number of people in the beer community today. Cory loves those kind of people.

Think this is an extremely fair take, and would agree that timing on what’s ready matters.

This is not a fair take - dude sounds reasonable and is/was slightly disappointed with the to-go bottle.

I agree. I don’t see this as entitlement. You’re paying partially for the mystery bottle, and then when you find out SP is selling them at a limit of 12 the next day, how is that a special Zwanze Day bottle? I’d be disappointed too.

For those who weren’t at Zwanze, this is a pretty accurate transcript of Cory’s opening speech. Stolen from Facebook:

"hey guys you all get to buy PN10 today so you dont have to come back tomorrow"
    CROWD CHEERS
"oh yeah, you also already get one. thats your to go bottle"
    CROWD SILENCE

850+ words sounds more than "slightly disappointed" to me.

When you go to ZWANZE day more for the possibility of a surprise bottle than the joy of getting to try a bunch of awesome beer, some of that being Cantillon, your priorities are a little skewed in my opinion.

I'm sure some kind of similar comment will be made/posted if Cory doesn't release an extra beer alongside BBT3 this year.

161 words (yes, I did a word count) is not "850+." That post was shorter than most of the posts in the Three Chiefs thread.

When you're paying for a surprise bottle ahead of time, you're allowed to voice an opinion on it. It isn't like the first two years where you paid at the event, now it's up front. No matter what you think of PN10, there's a clear difference between PN10 and FdF/Tete 15/OG Tete. Some people may say it's entitlement, but the previous three years set an expectation/standard. OP is far from being the only one with that reaction.

That’s why YOU go to Zwanze Day. Who’s to say he didn’t pay up just for the mystery bottle?

SP should’ve just made the limit on PN10 one or two and sold the rest on site to appease everyone who got an extra at Zwanze. Would’ve kept the hype/trade value up! I’m kidding of course, I never once thought they implied the surprise bottle was something super special or limited. I wonder how many folks went more for the surprise bottle than the beers being poured?
