    Have a nice Saturday BA.

Omnipollo Hypnopompa. This was fantastic. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, marshmallow, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of raisin, fig, licorice, molasses, smoke, charcoal, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; light slickness, sticky hops, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft sipping, mild increasing warmth of 11%. Fantastic balance of super rich malt complexity, marshmallow, and vanilla flavors; with balancing earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering hop/char bitter dryness. Just as impressive as I remember from the first time I had it.

Never seen it in any store in Europe, if I would visit a brewery that had one I would get it regardless of the quality of the brewery! Heck, I'd even steal one...

This beer, a NEIPA from Eagle Park Brewing, is called Tony Had Hair in the 90's. The same could be said about me.

Good day BAs! Summer is both officially and really over here in NW PA - cold and the rain has moved in. May have to mow the yard once more before spring. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

A trip down memory lane for me – I first had Hoegaarden in a little café in Toronto before I ever joined BA. What was that waiter’s name? RALPH! Or something equally mundane. And, much as I liked it originally, I haven’t had it since joining BA until now. So, a decent Belgian Witbier, even though in the clutches of INBEV.

Here is another NEIPA from Eagle Park Brewing. I love their location on the east side of Milwaukee, WI, but I am very excited about the location that they are moving to in Muskego, WI, which is close to where I grew up. This band reminds me of high school. I was not a fan of the band, but a lot of other people wore the band's t-shirts at my school.

Amazing batch this year as expected. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy red raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, raisin, red grape, plum, pear, red apple, pepper, candi sugar, and toasted bread; with some herbal hops and yeast earthiness. Touch of banana/clove. Balanced fruit tartness and peppery yeast spice on the finish against malt sweetness. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Some bready/grainy creaminess, fruit tannins, and lightly slick/syrupy in the mouthfeel. Good dryness from fruit acidity and yeast spice; never too sweet. Very drinkable, minimal warming 9.2%. Already got 4 packs. This shows great balance of Belgian yeast character, without just being a straight over the top fruit beer. Love Rubaeus too, this is basically just the imperial Belgian version. One of my favorite fruit beers of all time. I wouldn’t mind Cerise coming back either. Super jammy. Will keep buying more while I can.

New Vivant saison. This was fantastic. Great rocky head retention, soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy red cherries, fruit skin/pits, lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, melon, red apple, red grape, peppercorn, clove, hay, straw, herbal, floral, and grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough malts; light banana/bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness; light herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light fruit tang/acids in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy/carbonated dryness; no pucker/astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, zero warming 5.5%. Awesome balance of juicy MI cherries, and classic saison yeast complexity; with a great pale/wheat malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness, and not overwhelming on cherries or tartness. Might get a second pack. Amazing for summer.
