I think you're right on secondary but anything limited with a side project label usually requires either a bigger anchor or a more significant overpay with "smaller" bottles.

I don't think you are far off. The only hold up might be Pirate Paradise not being as valuable as it used to be and people aren't drooling all over themselves for AC like they were 2 years ago.

For what it's worth I thought Ambiente was delicious and more than worth the value it holds.

 

Anyone know of Kentucky Owls 11 year rye value? Would it be close to ORVW? Getting into bourbons and such and have no clue of values.

 

What do you think gets it done?

 

Kentucky owl rye would be a little over half way to a ORVW. Problem you will get is Kentucky owl sits on the shelves.

That's the going rate! ORVW will be about $300-$500 when it drops here in WA. The joys of privatized liquor sales.

You would be better off getting a couple more limited Bourbons and trading up. However, expect to spend minimum of $200.

 

Here is what I've seen close for the pair:

• Weller 12 + Weller OWA (seen this close the pair twice)
• Loadstar
• BA Jifforia
• Sulla Terra + Maltvin

Someone was trying to trade the pair for an Assassin '19 and that hasn't closed. Also have seen someone trying to trade a Blanton's Gold for the pair without any luck. Hope these data points help give you an idea.

 

I'm curious. Been over a month. Did you end up drinking them, trading them, or are they still sitting? I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on them if you drank them and also interested in what you traded them for if you traded them.

Little late to the party here, but Yamazaki 12 has seen more distribution in the Chicagoland area lately. I've seen roughly 2 cases every 6 months at Binnys. It's $99 on the shelf, and as a J-whiskey fan, I'd say that's about fair based on scarcity. It goes for double or triple that back in Japan. I personally always value scotch/whiskey/bourbon higher than beer, simply because you get more enjoyment out of it for a longer period of time. Once that beer is open, it's open, and then it's gone. You can have a bottle of Yamazaki open for over a year no problem, and enjoy it at your leisure.

So, in my opinion I'd say it just comes down to what you want more, but I'd want the Yama.

 

Been trying to track down schlafly the eleventh labor for a few years now and I just saw that they released again this year in 4 packs. Would BL stasis like Reaction state, FO etc be enough to land a pack? Or is the ibex series much harder to land?

 

aphelion with a decent plus should get it done for morning vibes. Ambiente value is around a Saturday release non ba AC bottle I think

The four pack showed up here in Northern VA about a month ago. I think this years FO is probably spot on but that is a non Cali opinion. I am surprised though that you are unable to find the original via trade. I realize that it is almost 4 years old at this point but bottles were on shelves in NoVA for a long time due to the $30 price point. I'd think the same for STL but then again the state of trading is pretty cut throat at this point.
