So Burl is pretty great. Aroma is fantastic. Ripe pineapple. Leans that classic HA bitterness - thankfully. The overly sweet HB cans (besides Heck Yessum) as of late have been too much for me. Bad ass artwork. Digging the tree reference. The girl with antlers immediately made me think about season one of True Detective.

Semi-related, dig the format and cost per oz change on Orin. $14.99 for 2 pack of tallboys.

Not my favorite album of theirs, or one I even particularly like, but Burl made me think of this song.

Sipping a 2019 Orin right now. Maybe it's the fact that I'm primed on Galaxy Bowl and Outer Range hops. Maybe it's the fall winds ripping through. Maybe it's the fact that the label reminds me of Oglethorpe from Aqua Teen Hunger Force on acid.

What I do know is that I've always enjoyed this beer and thought it didn't get as much love as it should. This year is pretty incredible. Creamy, caramel and vanilla, just the right level of booziness. Yum.

The Orin review by @flat_lander has convinced me to grab a two-pack. Related: anyone have any inside info on 2019 Benthic, specifically the release date? Hoping it's FOBAB weekend again. Variant info? And will it be in 16oz cans like Orin?

I started to wonder the same thing. Last year they didn't announce it until the week before, so I'm guessing we may have to wait a bit. I would guess either 11/8 or 11/15, with my hope / preference that it is 11/15 since I will be out of town on the 8th.

I had Orin last night, I thought it was good, and has a cool can.

Jesus, OK... I've walked that stretch of Montrose so many times (and I live in CO) that I know exactly what tree they're talking about in the Burl description.
    Do I feel guilty? No.

Anyone remember The Blob from Montrose? New owners removed the sign...

I never saw it, but I do recall The Blob from the Gigglesnort Hotel.

Really diggin this one. Old school grassy dank with a nice citric, bitter backbone. Refreshing. My speed completely. Well done!

Wanted to join in on the love for Burl, great beer that I had probably 5 glasses of on Saturday. Also, shout out to @habc_me and the rest of the Half Acre crew for a great event, you all rock as always!

(Colorado, please -- oh and BTW, thanks for the circa-GABF drop at my local liquor store!)

"...we will be selling all packaged units online." How are other people interpreting that? Only selling from Half Acre or it will also see distribution?

Just a guess that it'll be like last year. 2 or 3 regular cans, plus 1 of each variant. Regular sees very limited distro.

Only really post the IPAS and Sour Stuff as porters and stouts are not my thing, but thanks for tiding up my slack.

I do like the fish bowl idea combined with online sale. I think that strikes a nice balance for regulars and providing access to a larger crowd.

Well, at least you're sparing yourself quite the calorie intake during the cold months <Stout Season (TM)>
