So, my wife (the best wife I could ever ask for, by the way! got me this as an early x-mas present. Made by Al's Garden Art "Sentiments In Stone". The copyright date says 1996, which is the year Stone opened. Both the Stone logo copyright and Al's Garden Art copyright say 1996. Is it possible this is something from their debut year??? I expect it's from a few years later, but it's cool to dream:slight_smile: The lady that sold it said it was originally a store display. Does anybody have any information about this piece?

Here are pics that show all the details:

I contacted the manufacturer to ask if they happened to know when these were made. They said they think these were made in 2004 or 2005. So, not from their debut year, but I'd be just as happy to have it if it were made yesterday:slight_smile:

I have some updated information about this. I emailed Stone asking for some info, and the creative director got back to me with some great background info. These Stone books weren't made in '04-'05 like the manufacturer, Fiore, thought. Al's Garden Art originally made them, and that company had since been acquired by Fiore. From their email, it sounded like they were guesstimating on when they were made.

Anyway, back to the background from Stone. The original mold was made in 1996. The book displays were used in displays at stores and festivals. He said the books were only a '90's thing, and they stopped ordering them in the 2000's. Albertson's gave Stone a great end-cap display in 1997, and the lady said this one came from an Albertson's. Maybe this is that display? So, based on the info from Stone, it sound like this book is ca. 1996-1999.

It's cast/molded "stone" (kinda like concrete, I guess), so it's pretty heavy. I'd guess around 150 pounds.
