Have a nice Saturday BA. Been up all night again. I found my old Digitech RP200 in a storage cabinet, so I have been noodling around with the whammy pedal and other things for a couple hours. It has a ton of cool presets built right in. Never bothered to program my own. I definitely need to restring my Ibanez 1527 ASAP. It’s out of tune already, and I just re-tuned it tonight and locked the nut on top for the tremolo. I have gotten pretty rusty, but my scales and sweep arpeggios aren’t terrible.

Founders Underground Mountain Brown. This was amazing. Aromas and flavors of huge nutty medium roast coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, biscuit, and brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, fig, date, smoke, oak char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms. Mild herbal, grassy, roast, charred, coffee bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; light slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, and bourbon/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft. Mild increasing warmth of 11.9%, minimal lingering barrel booze. Perfectly balance between super rich malts, fruity/nutty coffee complexity, and bourbon barrel presence/integration; light earthy hops and fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. I had this on tap in 2012, I recalled it being one of the best beers I've ever had then, but palate adjustment is a thing. Right on par with KBS/CBS to my current opinions. Will get more a lot more while I can.

I’ll join these two insomniacs above then...

Tripel Karmeliet at the moment, and just so you know I slept well this night which won’t prevent me from attempting a nap this afternoon.

Amazing NEIPA as always. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, zesty, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; very creamy, bready, grainy wheat/oats, and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very dank/juicy hops, with perfect wheat, oat, malt malt balance. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness, amazing soft feel. Super easy drinking. Glad to have this as a year round available beer. This is one of my top most purchased beers ever at the moment. It just doesn't get any better for the style vs availability. Every Old Nation NEIPA is better than most anything else I've had in the state. DDH is just as impressive; but a bit more bitter, resinous, dank, and earthy.

Bell's Double Two Hearted. This was fantastic. Aromas and flavors of huge ruby red grapefruit, mandarin orange juice, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, and pine hops; with balanced honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild booze in the aromas as it warms. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/bready/grainy malts and some sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy alcohol dryness, no cloying/astringent. Very smooth/soft, mild increasing warmth of 11% after the finish. Amazing Centennial showcase as expected. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized balancing malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. More candied-like citrus and a bigger malt backbone; but just as balanced from the 2.5X extra hops. Did not prefer it over the base beer, but will buy the regular more often than I have been.

Outstanding wild saison! Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, red/green apple, white wine, peppercorn, oak, hay, straw, and grass; with some wheat, cracker, white bread, spicy rye malts; lighter leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast/rye spiciness; light tartness, herbal/grassy bitterness, and wine tang/tannins on the finish. High carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced grainy malts, sticky hops; light acidity and wine tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing spicy/carbonated dryness. Super refreshing, 6.1%. Wonderfully well developed Brett/Saison yeast complexity, with citrus/earthy hops; great oak foeder presence, and solid wheat/rye malt backbone.

Incredible as always. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-plus body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness; no hop astringency. Very smooth, nicely soft, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 6%. Amazing Simcoe/Amarillo profile. Super juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with an awesome clean bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. A top tier classic.

    Good morning BA
Today will be busy with regional HS soccer games and a night shift tonight. Taking it easy this morning with another beer from the Costco mixed case...

This one was not good. Watery malt and incomplete lagering. At least it was super fresh:rolling_eyes:...

Dating on these must be two years out with no brewed on date that I can find. I feel bad for whoever gets one of these next year from the leftover stock. Cheers all & happy anniversary @drunkenmess!
