    The last time I went to one of my go-to spots, they had like 6 different cans available. I passed because the last few times I had them, they were decent, not outstanding. I feel like there's too many IPAs available to be drinking stuff in the 4 range. ALL THAT SAID, I will give them another look based on your recent enjoyment. I'll report back with my results, sir!

    Work is done for the day, and my folks are safely back in Sarasota from their weekend visit. Time to work through all the beer I bought before the weekend and didn't have time to drink!

    First on the list is Heavy Seas Night Swell, called a "Dark" IPA (Not sure if it shows in the picture but it's not -quite- black, more of a very deep brown.) I'm not a huge fan of Heavy Seas, most of the stuff I've had from them is at best "good" and some of it was downright mediocre, IMO. THAT SAID, the Black IPA is one of my favorite styles and seeing it on the decline in the last few years has saddened me deeply. I'll try a Black IPA from any brewery that decides to brew one in 2019. But enough preamble! On to the liquid!

    It's aight. The hops come through almost entirely in the aroma, and the roasted malt dominates the palate.
