Starting a bit early today! I'm at the Great Swedish Beer Festival, enjoying a Trafalgar by Emmaboda Bryggeri.

Happy New Beer S... oh FFS it’s Saturday. Bad luck as I have a new beer this morning; Goudale Project, Circus Triple... never seen that one before so it must have been a fairly recent release...

    Cheers!

Have a nice Saturday BA. Finally having a normal weekend after 2 consecutive crazy party weekends. Actually got a nice amount sleep last night, and did not drink too much.

Bell's Double Two Hearted. This was fantastic. Aromas and flavors of huge ruby red grapefruit, mandarin orange juice, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, and pine hops; with balanced honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild booze in the aromas as it warms. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/bready/grainy malts and some sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy alcohol dryness, no cloying/astringent. Very smooth/soft, mild increasing warmth of 11% after the finish. Amazing Centennial showcase as expected. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized balancing malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. More candied-like citrus and a bigger malt backbone; but just as balanced from the 2.5X extra hops. Did not prefer it over the base beer, but will buy the regular more often than I have been.

New Leprous came out yesterday. Was a bit skeptical after hearing the singles, as it's not really as much metal as they used to be. That said, it grew on me FAST; and I am really digging it now.

Collective Arts IPA No. 11. Awesome NEIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, and pin e hops; with moderate wheat, white bread dough, biscuit, light toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Very creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying/astringency. Super smooth/soft, zero warming 5.8%. Awesome Mosaic, Idaho 7 profile. Super juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Loved it, spot on style. Loved the hop profile as expected. Would get again.

Incredible stuff. Aromas and flavors of huge juicy limes, citrus peel/zest, lemon, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, vanilla, tequila, toasted oak, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate honey, agave, wheat, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malt sweetness; light peppercorn, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang; light zesty bitterness, and tequila/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, silky, bready wheat; some lactic acid/fruit tang; light oak tannins, and salinity in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing acidic/tangy/tannin dryness; zero cloying/pucker. Insanely smooth/soft, not overly lactic/salty. Minimal warming 10%, zero barrel booze. Perfectly balanced between juicy/vibrant limes, Lacto complexity, agave, and tequila barrel presence/integration; with a nice sized rich pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Just as impressive as the Sierra Nevada one, but richer from the high ABV. This was everything I hoped it would be. Would get more if I see it.

Roak BBA French Toast Devil Dog. Fantastic as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, molasses, toffee, cinnamon, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, fudge, marshmallow, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, raisin, prune, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light herbal, grassy, peppery hop; roast/char bitterness; and cinnamon, bourbon, oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; creamy, silky, bready malts; some sticky spice, chalky roast, and bourbon/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness, no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors. Dangerously smooth, mildly increasing warmth of 11.4%, minimal barrel booze. Outstanding balance of rich malts, maple syrup, spices, and bourbon barrel presence/integration; with solid earthy hops against sweetness. Liked it just as much as the base beer. Richer at the higher ABV; and mellower on the hop/spice, and roast/char bitterness from the barrel aging. Hopefully they make it again this year. Just passed a year old last week. My last can.

Cool and windy sunrise walk to the park this morning. Joining @superspak in starting the morning with a Double Two Hearted Ale:

I need to do a beer run today, and hit a couple of thrift stores to finish my costume for tonight’s Halloween party at the bar. Have a great Saturday!

I had the Eagle Park canned version of this beer, but a good old-fashioned Toppling Goliath bomber of this beer is wonderful to experience!
