If you don’t post your reviews for the beers it will come across as gloating.

I'm waiting on the media samples to arrive, didn't want to try reviewing all eight in one sitting though it was a great sneak peek. ;-)

Great pic. Wish I was there, I would have picked up quite a bit of them.

Wouldn't it be great if they sold a variety case with three of each?

That's just one reason why Central Waters is so damn awesome.

12 pack, 4 different barrel aged beers, $40.

That's pretty cool, but is a damning indictment on how saturated the barrel aged beer market is if they have to start doing gimmicks to move beer.

I dunno if a barrel program that sells 100% of its beer where retailers put limits on how much you can buy, and then they offer a 12 pack = a "gimmick" you "have to start doing" to "move beer"

Same as (looks at home state: Illinois, ah now it makes sense. . . ) I wouldn't say changing from a 4 pack to a single 500ml format means you had to resort to gimmicks to move your product either :sunglasses:

Central Waters stuff sits on the shelves in Chicago. They aren't spending money on fancy boxes for 12 packs because they want to spend more money on packaging, they need to make it look nice and enticing in hopes of moving it.

Goose went from a 4 pack to 500ml because they could get a higher margin on it...and yes, they are sitting on shelves here too.

The amount of good ba stouts sitting on shelves here is why you will see brewers needing a marketing gimmick such as packaging or pre-packaged verticals to move product in a competitive market. See GI's 3 year BCBS vertical box. Lol. You could also just walk into most shops and grabs these individually off the shelves.

I certainly like the approach they're trying and I love the price point, I just wish I loved their beers :/

I have never been to a location where CW beers are for sale and they do NOT sit on shelves. If that exists, it is news to me.

A month ago I found some more vanilla bcbs at a spot and grabbed a few more. Still see orange and reg 18 at a few places. Really wish they would go back to 12oz bottles and do it for the entire lineup

Go shopping next time you're in town here. One location has CW Barleywine, Stout, and singles of at least 2 others. The other location has Barleywine, Stout, Vanilla Bean, Peruvian, Rye Barrel Chocolate Porter, and maybe a 6th. It definitely sits. When I was in the Chicago area this past weekend I saw Rye Barrel Stout at 2 different places.

‘17 and ‘18 BCBS still readily available in Philly area.

What I meant was: Everywhere that they distribute it sits on shelves. Although they are not my favorite, I may try the rye. Have not tried that one yet.

It’s Ok. I should speak with fewer negatives and double negatives. It’s win win. I should probably stop speaking with so many positives, too. This is a beer forum where neckbeards lust after unattainable beers after all.
