Actually, it was a good beer. I would order one in a heartbeat. Would it be considered a sour? Does sour ale mean something different than sour?

 

I think they mean the same thing, but depending on the brewery, they run the spectrum of a little tart, all the way to melt your teeth.

 

i think Orpheus makes some that will melt your teeth if I’m not mistaken @JBowenGeorgia can correct me on this.
I was at their 2nd? Anny party, completely by mistake, and ended up having a few that left me very puckered.

Thanks! I hate fucking sours but this one was tolerable. To be sure shared a flight with too many folks at The Answer Brewpub. Beers were ok.

I believe you are correct, the only time I've actually went there was to pick up some BA stout bottles. I'm going to have to make it to one of their sour releases at some point, I have to pick and choose my trips as my wife will only DD me to a brewery a couple times per year so I try to make those count.

Appearance: Comes in a bright hazy orange. Some fizzing as I pour, but overall very little head retention.
Nose: Tart, fruity, and quite sweet. Maybe orange/tangerine? Not sure.
Taste: Follows the nose. I'm struggling to pick out the exact fruit, but between the carb, the sweetness, and the overall flavor I'd guess John canned an Orangina and shipped it to me.
Final guess: It's clearly some sort of fruited sour, not sure of the variety. Gonna go out on a limb and say I'm tasting tangerine, with vanilla and maybe a hint of lime? Getting some interesting malty-ish flavors in the background, as well, but I can't tell if it's just the beer or some sort of adjunct I'm struggling to pick up. Bit of a tough one, I'm really second-guessing myself here.
