Wondering what's the best deal you ever had on a beer buy ? A few weeks ago I scored a 4 pack of Founder Underground Brown for 11.50 ( usually 17.00 around here) But probably the best score was when I picked up a 6 pack of BA Ten Fidy for 10.99 ( and tall boy cans, 20 oz ?? ). At the time I was like " Wow that seems rather cheap" went back the next day only to find the right price on it which was 10.99 for a single can. Sweet.!! What's yours ?

I had that identical experience on BA Ten Fidy. That's probably my only good score as I don't frequent bottle shops.

I get Founders Underground for 13.99 on the regular, so that’s nice.

I’ve grabbed KBS before on a make your own sixer for 2.99 a 12 oz bottle which I’m sure was miss priced. But hey, not my fault...

I've had a bunch of sweet deals. A grocery store near me have a make your own 6 pack section for 9.99 and they've put Founders KBS and all the other seasonal barrel aged beers in there. Last winter I probably bought over a case of KBS for 9.99 a six pack.

I've gotten 3 floyds bombers for 4.99 a few times

But the best deal in my opinion was when my local convenient store had a 5 dollar section clearance sale and there were 5 4 packs of Duvel in there. I bought 4 and left one for some other lucky customer.

Last year I picked up a BCBS variant for $11. It was a Wheatwine, which I love, but the store must have thought nobody would want it.

I once got a 32oz growler of beer for $1. The store had emptied a keg a month before by filling the growler, and it hadn't sold. I figured it was worth it just for the bottle, but the beer was incredible. It was a local, Brau Brothers Maple Bacon Bancreagie.

I don't think the 32 oz growler for a dollar is going to be beat.. LOL

What's the going rate for bcbs? I only saw it for the first time last year and paid 12$ for a bottle of regular. Thought it was a pretty good deal.

Best accidental deal I ever got was 2.50 for pbr 12 packs, some seriously retro pricing

That's the typical price for regular. You might want to check Costco next time. They've had it here for $8.89 apiece, and others have reported that price at other Costcos. Last year they even had variants for around $20, which is a few dollars less than most other places.

I almost got a great deal at my favorite store recently. I had put together a mixed-six of mostly high-end BA beers, probably totaling over $40. The new clerk scanned the Leinenkugel carrier and told me $8 or so. I said they may want to double check that and the manager training them filled them in on mixed-sixes.

Ya I'm curious to see if we see more of it around this year. Last time was the first sighting for me and it was at a weird "Depot" type liquor store I don't frequent but they had more GI brands than I was even aware of so it wouldn't surprise me if they were the first in the area to get a shipment

I’ve posted this several times but there is 1 store in my area that has some deal worked out with distributor where he sells 6 packs of the mixed Unibrowe beers for only $9.99 all the time for several years now. I’ts like 40-50% off the regular retail rate for all other stores in my area that sell that mixed 6 pack.

Nothing. Ohio is state regulated. Except for a few shops that do it under the radar

Goose Island asks/requires distributors to allocate BCBS to stores based on their total GI sales for the year, and sometimes based on sales of specific high-profit-margin beers such as Sofie and Matilda. Your best bet is to check stores that seem to move a lot of GI.

In 2014, I stopped by a Nordeast Minneapolis dive bar during happy hour. Mostly domestics but a few craft taps. Had Surly Barrel-Aged Darkness on. Happy hour was $2 pints, and either they didn't know to exclude BA Darkness or they were very generous. Either way, everyone in my group got one or two pints. Everyone else at the bar seemed to be happy with Grain Belt. Keep in mind, this was a beer going for around $25 for a 750 ml bottle in stores.

A few years ago I bought a case of Celebration that was fresh and brand new, $21. I’m sure it was mis marked, from Total Wine.

Maybe not as good as some other deals here, but Fresh & Easy (remember them?) discounted bombers of Wreck Alley Stout for $2 each. I bought 5.

Back in 1996 when I was in college, young, and had momentum I went to Europe with some friends one of whom was from Poland and came to America with viahis political asylum as his father was a member of Solidarity in the 80's. We drank Zywiec Lager and Porter for under a dollar per half liter everywhere we went in Poland. We traveled to Prague and went through Slovakia on the way and drank Zlatý Bažant (Golden Pheasant) for about $0.30 per half liter. For a college kid the prices in Eastern Europe were amazing. In Prague we drank Pilsner Urquell for around $0.60 per half liter. I've never had such a sweet deal on beer since.

Speaking of screw ups the Whole Foods by my office had prairie bomb for something like 9.99 a four pack instead of per single (ludicrously overpriced of course). 9.99 for four works for me though!
