    - Forget the name but there's a new spot opening up soon in Schuylerville, NY outside of Saratoga. They're working on a collab w/ Rare Form right now and their stuff in general sounds really nice.

    - Prison City broke ground on an expansion a mile from their current brewpub (which will remain open). Gonna like quintuple the amount of beer they can produce, they're gonna have a barrel room, a beer garden, whole thing. I would imagine late next year at the earliest for completion.

    Maryland breweries in planning:

    1) Ministry (Baltimore)- in a converted church. Opening this fall. Already debuted at a couple beer festivals.

    2) 1623 (Eldersburg)- should be open in December. Already widely available in cans in Maryland. Their IPA is delicious, not overly bitter. Owner is a Columbine survivor.

    3) Ten Eyck (Queenstown)- should be open by the end of the year, although they are still under construction. Probably the first brewery to be owned by six lesbians.

    4) Flood Zone (Union Bridge)- described as a brewery/marketplace. Owner says they will be opened in "maybe, maybe December."

    5) Forward (Annapolis)- should be open in early 2020. Under construction. Nano brewery/restaurant.

    6) Pipe the Side (Hampstead)- still waiting on their building permit. Early Untappd reviews are excellent. Expected to include elements of music and skateboarding in their taproom.

    7) Locust Post (Little Orleans)- Farm brewery. Scheduled to be open in spring-summer 2020, although their Instagram page indicates that construction is well under way.

    8) Pherm (Annapolis)- scheduled to be open in 2020.

    9) Upper Stem (Hagerstown)- Farm brewery. Details are limited. Was announced, then went completely silent on social media for about a year, but posted a few pics on Instagram this summer that showed what looked like a basically complete brewing system.

    10) Watchtower (Aberdeen)- in early stages of development. Currently a home brewery, with plans to expand.

    11) Brawling Bear (Gaithersburg)- available in cans. Have been working on a taproom for a very long time, and they still plan on opening it.

    12) Patent (Prince George's County)- still looking for a physical location, haven't even decided on a city. They plan on buying wort from other brewers, and then fermenting it.

    13) Conowingo (Conowingo)- farm brewery. No updates since January.

    14) Selva (Gaithersburg)- formerly East Diamond, bought by Sardi's. Available on tap at Sardi's, taproom should be open in a few months.

    15) Big Truck (Parkton)- farm brewery.

    16) Rare Creature (Frederick)- home brewery actively looking for a physical location.

    17) Breton Bay (Leonardtown)- currently brewing in Lusby, available at a couple places in Leonardtown. Planning on opening a taproom there.

    18) Double Groove (Forest Hill)- taproom scheduled to open late 2019.

    19) Implexus (Laurel)- barrel aged brewery. A collaboration between the owners of Jailbreak and Evil Twin.

    20) Burnish (Salisbury)- brewery/restaurant. Should be open by the end of the year.

    21) Gateway (Salisbury)- they have their building inspection scheduled for this week.

There's a few others at various stages of development. I wonder which ones will go all the way.

Yeah, they're bad. I give Dr. Brewlitte's a soft pass because the owner is also a veterinarian, so he's going for the whole "cross promotion" bit. Cringy, yes but I guess it's understandable?

'Bout The Hops is about as bad as it gets. No justifying that one.

Looks like they are starting to ramp up towards opening. No set date. They have done collaborations with a bunch of breweries.

They will be in Atlantic City for people not familiar with the project.

Sunken Silo Brewing in Lebanon, NJ opened over the weekend. I didn't get there because it was packed. I had a west coast IPA that they poured at the Main Street Half Marathon Expo in October and thought it was very good. I plan to get there soon, though. Anyone else go?

New Jersey is about to get what the owner claims is the largest brewery built in the US in 30 years... well, technically it's a "brewery"

Can't find any info on where - although some call it a "brown field" site, so in an urban and/or industrial area. I'd guess most of it now comes from City breweries and/or Genesee like Mike's Hard Lemonade from the same company?

Had the pleasure of a great session years ago with Amit and Chris when Amit was at Newburgh. And of course many of us have had his beers over the years since then at Peekskill, etc. Very talented. Glad to see him with his own place in the vanguard of the Poughkeepsie rennaissance. Here's to Amit Ram and Zeus Brewing (yes that's a rooibos tisane in my "glass", what of it?).

"Beer fans will need to wait until January 6 to check out all of these beers when Zeus Brewing Company officially opens their doors on Main Street in Poughkeepsie."

Two other PA breweries that opened so far in December:

    Tilt'em Back (Chalfont, Bucks County)
On The Point (Evans City, Butler County)

Next up seems to be Twisted Gingers in Manayunk (Philadelphia)

Not confident that any others will make it open in PA by the end of the year, but January looks to be an active month.
