Weekend off, no plans, and two fridges full of beer. You know what that means, right? GET LARRRGE! First up, Jotun by local brewery Häxkitteln (Witches cauldron), a sour farmhouse ale made with Kveik yeast.

Staying local with a winter seasonal from Remmarlöv, listening to one of the great screamers, Tim Williams.

Have a nice Saturday BA. Finally got some sleep and didn't stay up all night partying this weekend. Going to have a big beer haul today, as I haven't been to my weekend store in a while.

This is still tasting fantastic. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart blueberries, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, vanilla, toasted coconut, bourbon, oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, and raisins. Light roasted bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Full bodied creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Light roast malt chalkiness, fruit tang/acidity, and increasing dryness. Never cloyingly sweet, but definitely a dessert beer. Amazingly smooth, minimally warming 10.5%. A near perfect balance of berries, cocoa/vanilla, rich malts, and barrel character. Tons of flavor complexity, and it all comes together extremely well. I've always been a big fan of fruit stouts, so I'm not surprised how much I loved this one. Seems pretty polarizing to most people, but this is one of my favorites from the barrel series. This is the 16th bomber I've had. Would get more if I see it. Hope they make it again some day. It has actually gotten less sweet over the last 2.5 years, a bit more berry tartness right now. Still love it!

Good day BAs! A frosty morning after yesterday's snow - crunchy when I went out at 0600 to get the morning paper. @SawDog505, is that CBS in a 12 oz bottle? There are still bombers of it sitting on the shelves around here for $28. Today's New Breakfast Beer from the Costco advent box:

One of the better brews from Privatbrauerei H. Egerer who are so far responsible for 50% of the box.

My after midnight beer was Founders Blushing Monk. I found a bottle in a mix a six section but it was from last December but I figured meh what the hell, the beer should age well and I have always wanted to try it. I was worried that it would be too sweet and while on the sweeter side it was still very good, the raspberry was pronounced and tasted great. I would like to try a fresher bottle sometime to see what any difference may be but I can attest that with a year on this beer it was still good (and if I had to guess it sat warmly on the shelf too, as I passed the four packs often).

Regardless if anyone believes that I drink what I post anymore; I like doing one beer/post at a time now, because I can actually enjoy each beer as long as I wish.

Singlecut 18-Watt. Excellent session IPA. Glad they are in MI now. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, anf fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops; some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, pretty refreshing. Very flavorful/not watery for 5%. Feels like a lot of Citra/Simcoe! Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; great bready malt backbone for the ABV. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Would buy again for sure, one of the better session IPAs I've had.

Kustom Lager by Brutal Brewing at 4.9% ABV. Really crisp and delicious with hints of citrus. One of those beers you could drink all night. Definitely need to get some more of these. Cheers everyone!
