On the topic of HF Double Citra. I had three of them last night at Goldstar. That is a fantastic fucking beer. My HF fanboyism remains at peak levels.

Gold star is an awesome spot - walk-up crowlers and growlers window! Also everything else about it honestly

yeah man for me it takes top spot in the city. I don’t think I can think of any flaws or anything I’d add/change

This is likely a combination of bias, purely anecdotal, and a reflection of where I go (which tend to be closeish to the brewery) - but I feel like I see OH more often than any other NYC brewery on tap at bars/restaurants.

Yea that's definitely her. When I started to think about it I guess I remember having seen her, for some reason just didn't ring a bell at the time.

I dabble in some other, but this thread keeps me occupied the most haha.
I was going to respond to this, but I never got to so thanks @RobNewton
Additionally, no one is coming to Brooklyn to specifically go to Threes I'm sorry. yet every week OH is bringing people into the city from other states across the country. They dont have to distribute, the people come to them.

This sounds like it was a good time, I will def try to go to the next.

I feel like i've seen her a bunch at the OH taproom recently (on weekends) but had no idea she was a cicerone!

But as per must visit NYC spots, I usually mention Threes. Their can jams draw pretty fantastic crowds sometimes, their beer does well in some state tasting, and their shop to go does a great job promoting local brewers. (Most) People coming to NYC for beer might not primarily be aiming for Threes, but they make an impact in other ways.

I agree with this and I love Threes myself. I just know if you were to walk into the OH taproom on a Sat most of the people there who were buying cans and drinking draft prob never have been to Threes, or possibly had their beer, if they even know who Threes is. If OH didn't exist there wouldn't be droves of people coming into Brooklyn on a weekly basis for beer.

Either way that list is stupid IMO, as they outright say in some of the brewery rankings they tried a very small amount of their beer in comparison to other ones on the list.

I was thinking of doing this as well, although the public transit from my GFs to the Well seems horrific to deal with. Ill likely be at OH by 1pm with the greater possibility of being there for 12.

Rob, you going to get the HV Cans? If you want to share I can bring some Space Diamonds for you and buy you your first pour at OH!

That is extremely generous! Let me reach out to you if I do end up going. I'm usually at the front of the "hudson valley is overrated at all their beer tastes the same" line.

I took minimal to mean they are actually making a stout without putting Oreos, coconut, butterfingers, Rice Krispies and eight thousand ingredients in it. Curious to see how it tastes and if it is just a vanilla bomb.

Had Short Dark and Handsome last night and if anyone else described it as drinking a Mounds bar I couldn't agree more. Heavy on the sweetness but still a delicious beer. Will be getting into the Hop Showers tonight but, I already know what to expect there.

I took it that way as well - but the MO in this thread is to be as facetious and caustic as possible. Still - for more of a “purist” stout, it would have been nice to see what they could do with no additions at all, or at least not all out crushing. Maybe gently squished.
