it would be hard enough with SP hosting this type of event with the list of breweries involved. add to that the fact that they’re pouring BA stouts & BWs. going to be tough for sure.

This looks like it is going to fall on Super Bowl Sunday. This may discourage some from coming. The Super Bowl is the 3rd biggest holiday in my house. Now maybe this will be the 3rd biggest holiday (fingers crossed).

 

Sunday seems like a strange day to have it in the first place.

A Sunday may be hard for me to swing, but it sure does sound fun

 

I too am a high Super Bowl fan and usually do I nice BBQ (smoked brisket, bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños, beer chili, vegan bean dip) and local craft beer spread for the family and close friends so I’m torn. I am leaning towards not even trying to get tickets. But it does sound totally awesome!

 

The date and circumstances seem prohibitive for out-of-town folks. Anyone plan on coming from far distances for this? Or is this going to end up being mainly a local thing.

On an aside I am really surprised so many brewers/breweries agreed to pour at a festival on super bowl sunday unless they were unaware of the conflict. Unless it is just going to be like Zwanze where SP gets volunteers to pour the beers.

 

i don’t think super bowl Sunday means that much to the average brewery. People tend to watch it together more so than go out.

Last year Lumber Jack day was on super bowl Sunday and sold out 600 tickets immediately.

 

Not sure if a 5 hour drive qualifies as a far distance but I'll happily make the trek if I get a ticket.

Same thing here, but I'm about 7 hours away.

 

Didn't think about it as a way to potentially keep it more local but that makes some sense.

 

For me, Superbowl Sunday is the second biggest holiday after Thanksgiving. So good luck to all those going for tickets because you’ll have one fewer person looking to score them.

 

I’ll be making the 4 hour drive up from TN if I can get a ticket. Will use a sick day Monday to recover from the hangover and limp back south

Same. The Super Bowl for me is only a holiday/big event if my team is in it.
