This is really an extraordinary Black IPL. I feel lucky to have obtained the last bottle at the local distributorship.



Not sure how the title is connected to the style (if it is), but the name alludes to Walt Whitman's tribute to Abraham Lincoln, who began drafting the Gettysburg Address, which he delivered two day later on November 19, 1963.

Perfect choice of food and Beer for this cool Florida day. I'm having spicy chili and Sierra Nevada "Torpedo" this afternoon.

Exactly 1 year old. The maple has (presumably) faded, but that has thrown this one into balance. Not too sweet or adjunct-heavy. An easy drinking 12%.

 

Drinking Oskar Blues, Can O' Bliss. Very tasty. Boomer Sooner!!

 

Badger State Brunchfest Coffee Stout, 5.8% ABV. Pours black and somewhat thick, with a one-finger light brown head that left some foamy lacing. Nose is coffee and slight chocolate. Taste follows, slightly sweet, moderate bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding. Nice coffee stout that isn't overrun by coffee bitterness.

Thanks to @GreenBayBA for providing this great Green Bay beer in an in-person trade. Our Packers have a bye this week, so we get to cheer for whomever is playing the Vikings, Bears, and Lions. Not to be petty or anything.

 

A truck ran up into my yard and ripped off two sizeable limbs of a Bradford Pear. It all happened during the rain and wind yesterday, so I just got out to cut them up this morning.
Toasting my sawyer skills with a Charles Towne Fermentory Side Stepper.

I had to google Side Stepper as I am not a gamer. The beer is quite nice, dry and drinkable for a 8.3 ABV DIPA.
I'm glad Charles Towne brought this back.

 

Enjoying some pool time with the Mrs. today and a Mexican Michelada.

Ummmm, you're not my twin brother from another mother are you? Wife's making chili now and I followed up the milkshake IPA with a Torpedo. Your 1st Cav avatar is great, My team builds the TADS/PNVS on the front of the AH64, one seriously bad ass bird. Cheers!

Threw a couple of fatties on the pellet grill. Should be ready by late game time.

 

GMTA ... Good choice on everything .. and Yes, the Huey that we flew really did the job. Our bird helped bring a lot of guys back "in time"

 

Phase Three Pressed Coffee/Vanilla Imperial Porter. I thought I would like their first Pressed release with coffee and maple more, but I think this one might be better. Lots of great gourmet coffee coming through and the vanilla is sweet, almost like vanilla creamer or frosting. But the chocolate that comes through from the base porter is what puts this one over the top. Almost like Hershey’s chocolate syrup or just milk chocolate in general. Reminds me of Oreo's with coffee. Really well done!
