My 1000th beer on BA...

I seem to have enjoyed this one more than the handful of other reviewers. I started at 55 degrees F and let it go to room temperature, which no one else mentioned. Nice Scotch notes in conjunction with all the expected barleywine goodness.

I'm on nights all week, so a nap is imminent. Cheers all and enjoy your Monday!

I've visited NYC two times both of which have shown me how impressive Brooklyn is. I love Brooklyn. Next time I visit (in December) I am booking my hotel there.

 

Aroma of citrusy hops, something like grapefruit but not so strong and just a hint of malt.

Flavor on entry is mildly hoppy, more of a lemon zest tone to it, oddly the hop taste is less intense than the aroma and seems to be a different fruit. It's not disjointing, actually rather pleasant, just noticeable that it smells of one yet tastes of the other. Malt joins in mid palate and rides to the end, but hops stay on top of things and linger in the aftertaste.

 

I may resemble a muffin soon, if I don't stop hanging out in early morning online dive bars drinking big beers. Cheers & keep everyone in the now!

I think they brew that in Utica. A hotel room there would be a lot cheaper.

For sure. But so many great breweries in the area I can't see Utica as reasonable.
