Good morning BAs and have a nice Saturday and weekend...

Well your boring weather report again for Northern France; cool and rainy, so far so good, last I heard it was called “fall”.

Anyway, drinking Hapkin, known to most everyone, a very good Belgian Strong Pale Ale...

    Cheers!

Hello Ba ... getting started just a tad early today but I think this beer was meant to be drank in the a.m. First of 9 straight days off of work and family coming over today. Gotta go shampoo the carpets. Cheers !

Hazy dark amber color with golden highlights.

Aroma is like walking a path between a Southern Pine forest and a citrus grove. Strong but not intense, nicely balanced.

Taste is beautiful. Hops forward with an entering sharpness of citrus peel but quickly melding into something richly multi layered. Hops on levels I've rarely experienced with each being richer than the one that preceded it. Well played. Malt appears mid palate and builds growing bolder all the way into the aftertaste where it lingers until added to by a final hop flourish.

    Good morning BA
Last night's shift was a rough one and it looks like my team will spend 12 hours outside, in rain, with temperatures in the 30's tonight dangling by harnesses repairing damaged wiring. A Costco beer was not going to have the punch I need this morning. Enter Willettized...

Really good. Bought a single because that's how they are selling them here. I'll buy a 4 pack if Meijer has them on Monday. Otherwise, I'll save up for FIS next month.

Ironically playing when I got in the car this morning

Cheers all and enjoy your Saturday!

Oof, taking the morning off and with apologies to violating @bowzer4birdie "rules of engagement" (:grimacing:) here, but will try to check in later from Cerebral Brewing in Denver (headed there today for my wife's book event at Tattered Cover on E. Colfax). I wish you all a wondrous beer-day. Cheers!
    Meanwhile...

Ruddy brown color with tan cap and lacing.

Aroma of dark figs, hint of cocoa and mildly floral hops.

Taste at first of slightly coffeeish roasted malt with hops riding along on top singing floral notes that are a bit more spicy than what I found in the scent. These flavor sensations remain throughout and finish with the same notes on which they started. Simple flavors well matched.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

When I see Christmas on the label I'm thinking spices like nutmeg, cinnamon and the like but Abita chose a different route here. A basic brown ale that's easily drinkable.

Been out in the yard with my backpack leaf blower on since I got up this morning. Sometimes I hate the gigantic sycamore tree in my yard :rage:.

Getting ready to make some jalapeno bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast.

    Time for a coffee...

Funny thing about weekends when your unemployed. They dont seem as much. Also only time to hang out with your working friends.

Pulling Christmas stuff out from under the stairs. Should be a busy day.

Out of town next weekend so Christmas decorations go up today. That means a day off holiday beers, starting with Shipyard's Prelude winter warmer.
Malty & slightly nutty, but no spice or hop bite, just an odd sightly bitter aftertaste as it goes down. It's an okay beer, but I'm glad I didn't buy a 6.
