Good morning BA's. Although it's a bit past mid-day in my part of the world I've only just poured my morning coffee. It wasn't easy getting out of bed this morning.

Goliat by To Øl, 10.1% ABV imperial coffee stout with cane sugar.
As I've stated before I've never learned to drink coffee. I'm getting really good at big coffee stouts though. This is a beauty of a beer. Real heavy coffee flavours but the sweetness of the cane sugar makes it more than drinkable for me. It's more like a really dark cup of cocoa. Cheers!

Good morning, BAs! Thanks to @thisischuck01 for today’s opener. Charles hit 500 unique Other Half beers yesterday, and thanks to him, I’m on my way to 300.

Good day BAs! Cross-post with NBS and a WELCOME terminus to the chore of drinking (maybe) this year's Costco Advent chore box of (alleged) special beers:

DAMN GOOD! I (and YOU) owe me a few good beers after taking a hit for all of you by drinking and reviewing the average (HAH!) brews of the Costco box. If someone offers you a box of these brews, run SCREAMING! (Just joking - most were average with a couple that were slightly above average).

Very deep coppery gold color with good tan cap and lacing.

Aroma of molasses, dark fruits like figs, plums, dates and raisins, with some sharp spice that give it a floral character.

Deep flavors that are bolder in taste than in scent. Same mix though, with dark fruits dominating the field like artillery with spices providing the flanking Calvary. Combined they are a full frontal assault on the senses but it's a welcome feeling. No alcohol that I can taste, which may be due to an acquired resistance, just a melange of flavors that are consistent, complex and very clean. If I had a friend who had never tasted a Scotch Ale this is the one I'd choose for their introduction.

Good Sunday morning Advocates! Three hours of work and a 6.25 mile run complete. I feel I've earned this bit of CBS, lovely 60 degrees outside.

    Happy Sunday BA’s
It’s a bit dreary around here today. We got up and hit the grocery store before 7 am and it looked like the huddled masses had the same idea.

my wife is in full sweet bread bake mode. Banana is done she is doing date nut, cranberry, and pumpkin. I just got kicked out of the kitchen.

    It's a big beer kind of morning . . .

Beautiful deep red amber gold color, light cap, moderate lacing.

Aroma is an admixture of stuff which to me combines a rich, malt forward brew with Oloroso Sherry notes. Not sweet, nor dry, but a very complex combination of very nice things.

Taste is malt, yes, malt with an advanced college degree. Too complex for simple notes to stand out yet hops are present supporting the rich malt, no hint of roasted malt bitterness but the same full malt character of a good Stout without really tasting like a Stout. There is the dark fruit ripeness of a great Belgian, fullness of a Doppelbock, yet something different as if the best of Old World strong beers came to our shores and became changed and updated without giving up the heritage.

    Good morning BA
A new beer after my last of six nightshifts. 16 hours last night as the equipment did not wish to cooperate...

Pretty good but not outstanding. More on NBS. Cheers all and enjoy your Sunday!
