PNW Thanksgiving Beers (2019)

Reuben's Autumn Harvest is a must. Throw some Elysian Night Owl, The Great Pumpkin and Punkuccino in there too.

 

Some Celebration and a good selection of PNW stouts and porters would be a good way to set the stage for OR / WA wines.

 

Drinking a Dragontooth right now, second that.

 

10 Barrel's Pray for Snow would be cool, Breckenridge has the 5 Liter minikegs of Christmas Ale circulating right now too at Safeway/Albertsons stores as well.

 

I'm new to PNW, so I appreciate this thread and all of your suggestions. (I'm missing the pumpkin and Christmas Ales back home in Cleveland)
Will enjoy the big stouts from Fort George and currently really into the Dunkel from Buoy.

Welcome Bobby, we make up for Seasonal Affective Disorder with some pretty good beers up here. One of my best friends is from Berea, outside Cleveland. lol

 

Thanks man. At least there is a lot of green up here. Berea is where the Browns practice and close to where Fat Heads is. Another great brewery.

 

I have a few that I've been sitting on, most of which are 'standards' for the PNW this time of year.

I like brett pales with my gluttony, so either Orval or a Flemish Kiss. Maybe the Maple Barrel Smoked Porter for dessert.

 

I’ll probably be splitting a Black Raven Grandfather Raven Imperial Stout with my mom. She’ll be the only other beer drinker in attendance. Also planning to have some Reuben’s Roasted Rye IPA, Breakside The Oligarch Piedmontese, and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof.

My family is likely going to stick to wine so I'll be popping some Alesong bottles here and there and doming the Old World Abyss variant at some point.

 

Thanksgiving is nothing but a party with the potential for things to get hellish with the inevitable explosions, so our house is stocked with:
Ferment Helles(really looking forward to finally trying something from these folks)

Wayfinder Party Time Pils.

 

My family doesn't drink (not sure what happened to me), so after dinner at my parents I'll come home and drink a Conflux #1 by myself.

 

I think after work tonight I'm going to get a growler of Perry Street's IPL for semi-mass beer consumption purposes for my family's Saturday observance of Thanksgiving. Plus a couple "cellared" bottles tbd.

 

We tend to drink more wine or whiskey on Thanksgiving. I’ve got a vertical of Parabola ‘15-‘18 I’ve been meaning to crack open though. We’ll see how the day/night goes.

 

I’ve been in the High Tatras Mountains in Slovakia the last two days and drank nothing but Pilsners. It was pretty amazing.

My wife, daughter and I are headed to Kraków on Thanksgiving with her sister, brother in law and our niece. I don’t know what beers we’ll have, but at least we’ll be with family.

 

I have no particular plans, as yet, set for tomorrow, but whatever shall develop, there will be beer.

And, as is my wont as an inherent rulebender, and as it's not a NW beer, I'd like to take this moment to lift this glass of Rochefort 10 to my Mom, who passed 20 years ago today. Happy Thanksgiving Mom.
