The pic above is from Imgur. I always “copy link” with my iPhone. Imgur users shouldn’t have trouble if they just want to post an image.

Is it just me or did very recently the "Media" icon that used to be next to the "Image" icon disappear?

Its gone when viewing the forums on both Chrome on my Android phone and Edge on my Windows Tablet.

That tool was the only way to post pictures from the Imgur app (could get the image link if posting from a browser), or to post pictures from Instagram.

I appreciate this sub-forum a lot cuz I hadn't realized that the media option was taken away until I went to use it in a post. Thanks for the explanation, Todd.

I used to be able to post links to public Facebook groups and pages displaying photos of beers. This worked fine at the end of 2019. In 2020 this no longer works. I know some people use imgur to do that and that still seems to work, but I am not a member there. I am just wondering what changed? Is it possible to get the old functionality back?

For info, one does not need to be a member at imgur to use it. Just upload the image to the site & copy the link it gives you. No membership or account required.

I've uploaded images to World-Wide Web fora since the 20th Century, and most of them were SFW . One bylaw which many old fora maintained was off-forum hosting, such that if the forum went offline, the images being shown on it would not permanently disappear.
I have a .txt file which lists the images I have uploaded, for which forum(| a) they were referred into, and the image file names - so I do not duplicate an image upload. My images are Creative Commons - Noncommercial - Allow Derivative Works - Share Alike. I usually shoot 640x480 images.
My adult bookmark pages have a bunch of links to image hosts which accept NSFW images, but I won't mention those here. They usually have a drop-down box where you can indicate if the picture is 'family safe' or 'adult content', but sometimes, even the 'family safe' option propagates an edgy banner ad when somebody clicks through to see the full-sized image. I never do this intentionally. :worried:
I prefer image hosts that allow thumbnails to be shown in the forum post, and if somebody clicks on the thumbnail, then they get the full-sized image. I am still on v.92, and having to wait while a full-sized 680 kb image {and typically more than one} downloads in the post is distressing. :disappointed
Lately, I have been uploading to these image hosts. You can see an example of this in the Happy Gnome Closing? thread in the Midwest forum.
    Test these.
