Being gone for 2+ weeks was definitely a benefit when it comes to this beer. Canned 9/12/19 and the last two I've had (yesterday and right now) are freaking delicious. First batch good IMO. Problem is that my beer never lasts this long (that's what she said), so I rarely see a beer at it's 5 week peak lol

Question on their online can sales. Actually a stupid question. Just opened up the pre sales page. It says the online sales is closed, meaning it has sold out? So there will be no cans for sale at their locations. I was about to pre purchase yesterday but decided not to at the last minute because I wasn’t for sure we would be able to fly to Monterey tomorrow. But we are for sure going to fly up for the day and hit up ASB (lunch) and FW before flying back to LAX. Was hoping to bring Pulp cans back. Looks like I’ll just have to bring extra crowlers of King Citra instead. Was going to pre purchase 2 crowlers of KC. I’ll just bring back 4-5 instead. And hopefully some cans from ASB (TOØL).

I don't think Fieldwork gets enough credit for their West Coast IPAs. Grabbed a few cans of Boss on the Plains and man, this is fantastic. This is in contrast to another disappointing batch of Pulp. Had a pint of Juicy Mane, which was pretty good but man, I don't think there's this much variation in their WC IPAs as there is in their Hazies. The WC's always seem to be solid.

While I'm not quite ready to say disappointed by this batch of Pulp, I'll definitely echo the sentiments about the tastiness that is Boss of the Plains! Sipping the last of my growlette now, and wishing I'd ordered more than 2 cans. So crisp, clean, and dank/pine goodness.

I feel that there's been times where I've been underwhelmed by Pulp cans out of the gate, but a week or two later they've shown improvement. That said, the great batches have been outstanding from day 1. Cheers!

Man, I feel like Pulp at this point is like chasing the great citra dragon. I just want it to taste as good as the first time, but man it just hasn't. The great batches of Pulp just blew my mind from the first sip on and subsequent batches just haven't lived up. It's been a while since I've been blown away by this beer :slight_frown:

The online preordering generally starts on a Thursday and ends when they sell out of cans or sometime the next day, before the pickup window starts on Saturday morning. They said they had cans for sale of Boss of the Plains and Tropical Glow at the taprooms today, so maybe there'll still be some left tomorrow.

I guess I'll put away the Pulp cans I'm about to pick up until later after seeing everyone's comments.

Thanks. So it looks like if they don’t sell out on line whatever is left over will be sold at the location? That is good to know. Maybe it’s a good thing our plans have changed again on flying to MRY. The Wine Country has cans of ASB’s POØL and others in. Picked up two 4pks and a can of Dream On. So no need to fly up to MRY. And from the readings here sounds like Pulp batch wasn’t good. I was going to pick up 8 cans of Pulp and crowler fills of King Citra.

Ok, I'm holding off on the Pulp but having a can of Tropic Glow now - this is definitely one of their best hazies recently. They nailed it on this Enigma & Idaho7 hop combo - really bright tropical & citrus fruit notes. Every time I get put off by one of their misses, they come correct and reel me back in. They still had lots of can of this as well as Boss of the Plains for regular sale at the San Ramon location when I stopped in earlier today; definitely worth picking up.

This week's can releases are in at Berkeley, San Mateo, and San Ramon now and on pre-order. I really enjoyed the last batches of Virtual Planetoid and Saint Thomas, so I getting my hopes up for this time.

Grabbed a couple St Thomas and a single Virtual Planetoid...but in honesty, I'm gonna keep killing Boss of the Plains until it's gone in Sac. Very tasty West Coast recipe for my palate and preferences.

Man, really nice release from Fieldwork. Grabbed some cans of St. Thomas and VP on the way back home, super easy. St. Thomas is tasting awesome! VP maybe needs a little bit of time but still good. Solid release by FW!

Wow y'all weren't kidding about Boss of the Plains - finally got around to the cans I had and dammit I wish I bought a whole lot more. Hopefully they rotate this in as a regular WC, definitely prefer it over a lot of their hazies.

Saint Thomas is absolutely perfect. Everything about it - mouthfeel, aroma, and lovely flavors. Got a Crowler today since I missed cans.. Should've gotten two or three lol

Planetoid is tasting great as well.

Man, I was happy to grab two crowlers of St. Thomas today and I completely agree with you, they really nailed this. Also grabbed a crowler of Happily Slightly Dazed, which is a pleasant surprise; tasting wonderful!

Gonna have to disagree with Boss of the Plains. My 3rd taste through confirms. Oily, resinous, and has a fusel oil taste. Reminds me of an overaged Riesling.

Sounds dank to me. What’s the problem?

Anyone have the new batch of Coconut Milk yet? It's got a prominent piña colada flavor that I just can't shake off. Not my favorite batch.

Seems very different from the February batch to me. Much less juice, more of a toasted flavor from the coconut. I don't like it nearly as much, it's even sweeter than what's already a very sweet beer.

Most Fieldwork we get down here in So.Cal is usually on tap so I was really stoked to see these cans at Bottlecraft San Diego last month. I asked the guy working there that day if there was a limit and he said I could take six if I wanted, so I did. I have always heard amazing things about this beer and it did not disappoint, massive tangerine bomb and beautifully balanced throughout. I'm sure everyone has their favorite batches and could go on ad nauseam about this beer but damn, this is one freekin delicious beer. This was my last can I cracked last night and it was almost six weeks old and still was drinking amazingly. I also picked up two cans of Tropic Glow that I really liked too. But Pulp is on another level IPA wise IMHO.

    Cheers,

You haven’t tried DDH Pulp yet. One of my favorite beers this year. It would probably make your head explode if you liked Pulp that much.
