Anyone know if Safeway would ever get any of this? Not a lot of stores in my area carry any GI stuff and the only bevmo is about a half hour away and the only place I've ever found bcbs is an hour away. Wondering if it's worth checking at the local Safeway though

I always find the regular BCBS at Safeway (and Raley's) this time of year, but I've never seen the variants at the grocery store.

    My Haul:
3x BCBS - $13.99 (up $1 from last year at same place)
1x BC Wheatwine - $17.99 (up $3 from last year at same place)
1x BC Mon Cheri - $27.99 (last time I bought variant was 2017, which was 24.99)
1x BC Cafe de Olla - $27.99 (last time I bought variant was 2017, which was 24.99)

The store I got the two variants sold out, but I saw the price of Reserve Rye @ $33.99. Glad I got a 5oz pour for $8 right before Thanksgiving. I liked it more than BCBS.

Took this past Friday and Saturday off for the first time in 6+ years though did drink the Prop at a bar Sat night.

Started my hunt today and struck gold in Chicago. 2 x MC, 2 x CdO, 1 x Prop, 1 x RR. At good prices. I was able to get one RR or one 2-yr Reserve and based on what I read in the Tribune went with the RR.

Buyer's remorse as I am now seeing here and on other ranking site that the 2-yr reserve is rated 0.2 higher. Oh well, now my new hunt is to get some of that.

Found some regular, 14.99. Will still be stopping into the store I found it in last year for 11.99 and hope they've got it at the same price so I can grab a few more for the cellar

Not that bad of off flavors but mine had a banana-y, apple / esters note to it that was very different than my recollection of last years. I wouldn’t say it was infected or anything but I recall liking 2018 quite a bit more.

I live in an area of NorCal that has never seen a single variant, even barleywine. I used to trade for them every year but I’m over it. The regular is fantastic.

Last year was the first time that I ever even saw regular in my part of nor cal. Other than a fancy bottle shop that had a few vintages of regular from before the shop opened. Agreed though that regular bcbs is a wonderful beer, one of the few beers I've had that actually lived up to the insane hype around it.

We only the cafe variant here in GA for $22. Hard pass, I stocked up on Lagunitas Willetized (4 4pk) for $11.99/pk.

Where in in NorCal? In sf I’ve seen Cafe, Cherri wheat and some reserve rye. BevMo has the variants at 1pp so it shouldn’t be to hard.

I’m 5 hours north of the Bay Area. I have happened to be down there around this time before but haven’t got lucky on anything other than barleywine.

The beer market in nor cal shrinks real fast once you leave the big cities

I wasn’t intending on buying any, but I found a bottle of Cafe while grocery shopping last night, which shocked me because we never get variants around here, and only got the coffee one once in 2017. I picked up a single bottle, which I will drink on Saturday, for $25. I’m excited to try it, but I don’t expect it to blow me away like the regular coffee one did. They also had the variant with the purple label, whatever that one is.

The purple label is Mon Cheri, an intentionally cherry stout, unlike 2015 regular.

The Cafe De Olla reportedly is nothing like previous Coffee BCBS, which I've never had. I loved the Cafe De Olla though. Looking at reviews, it's very polarizing.

Only have seen Cafe, Cheri, and Wheatwine in PA

If anyone has any Double Barrel available locally to them, let me know if you can help out!

    Shop I go to got

    Regular $12.99
    Wheat $16.99
    Reserve rye $16.99
    Olla $23.99
    Cheri $23.99
    3 year vert $49.99

There were cases of all but the vert(4-5 packs)

I bought none , did order the Boulevard BA pack, picking it up Monday. Bit pricey at $22 but it reads as if it’s worth it.

    Enjoy
