With A-B sinking there teeth into Goose Island the brews just wont be the same, at least for me anyway. So what will be your big Bourbon Imperial stout of choice to take the place of BCBS. This was one of my all time favorites and has such special place in my heart(and stomach). What out there is a good alternative in your opinion?

although i disagree with your A-B premise (or I really hope you're wrong at least), Parabola is a good alternative, although a very limited one.

Yes, everyone needs to stop buying up all the BCBS, especially the variants. I swear I'll do the same.....

As many have said before, if BCBS continues to be excellent, I will buy it and drink it, regardless of ownership. If this year's is any indication of things to come, I'm not too worried.

Never had it myself, but perhaps Barrel Aged Borris from Hoppin Frog would be a good alternative. I'm able to get it year round around here.

I will continue to drink BCBS. The way I look at it, Goose Island would have gone out of business if A-B hadn't bought them. I am glad they are still around, and will continue to drink their beers as long as they're still good.

BB Plead the 5th for me. I heard this year it's bottled with real unicorn tears.

I love Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. Very easy to get piles of it and it ages so amazingly. Yea its no BCBS but I have no issue still going to town as it sounds like they're just expanding the ability for Goose Island to do more barrel aging. If I could get more of it I'd go Parabola or Abyss but yeesh, I think Abyss lasted here for all of 30 minutes in stores.

I am still loyal to it. When it is just mediocre is when I find a replacement.

Founders KBS & Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout, both phenomenal. R.I.P. GI BCBS.

Black Xantus should be avaliable right now and is excellent + slept on so it still should be chillin on the shelves. Also Evil Twin Auld Yin just sits out on the shelves, and is equally as ballin (though technically it is a whiskey barrel stout, but whatever). If it just wasn't so damn expensive I'd buy out the rest in my local beer store. I will say this years BCBS tastes grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat (tony the tiger voice). I hate A-B too, and always have since I live close to St. Louis and my dad lives in the Lou, but so far so good with them. I will, however, keep a wary eye on them. I am afraid once they gain all of our trust back they are just going to start barrel aging Bud Light Platinums, and laugh while we all panic.

How do you know that they would have gone out of business? I am not disagreeing or agreeing with your point, I just am interested in it and would enjoy reading an article or something on it. Also, I agree with you, as long as the beer stays as good, no reason to stop buying it, drinking it, and enjoying it.

I'm going to replace my non-AB-InBev BCBS with AB-InBev BCBS.

No, Goose Island doesn't brew BCBS anymore, GI was bought out by Anhueser-Busch InBev. AB InBev is brewing their version of BCBS now (and it's still delicious).

However, make no mistake, AB InBev employees are brewing it, and all profits are going to AB InBev. RIP GI BCBS.
