Dude. My oldest sister is 71. She wrote machine language programs in the 1960’s. Her place of of employment still uses the programs she wrote. She retired a zillion years ago. Her employer keeps her on to help decades later. She makes a boat load of money just part time or as a consultant to keep things running. The business should hire a bunch of kids to fix this. Maybe three generations removed though.

My wife does that consulting ish on the side for Bridgestone/Firestone. An extra 10 hours a week, an extra 25K a year, fine. I'll do dishes and cook, you get that paper girl.

 

To be sure, I do not understand why. I am happy for my sister. Living on mostly social security. So the extra bucks are a god send. But why would a business rely on 1960’s stuff?
