Greenbrier Valley -- Mothman Black IPA. Roast malt, citrus, and an earthy bitterness all rolled into one, what's not to like?

A wrestler friend of mine in college was a die hard Zappa fan. He was a good wrestler despite having had polio as a kid which left him with a gimpy leg. But many a day we shared some good smoke and listened to Zappa.

 

This one is a surprise, in a pretty good way...

 

No Brakes, a new DIPA at Twin Elephant, hopped with Galaxy, Motueka, and Simcoe. It’s outstanding! So plush and creamy with tropical fruit, tart citrus, and animal cracker. And super drinkable for 8.3. Maybe the best DIPA Twin Elephant has brewed. I’m looking forward to reading @hopsputin’s and @dennis3951’s assessments. Cheers to the weekend, BAs!

He was in town several years ago and I got a call to fill in as the guitar player for a gig he was doing at Dick's Last Resort in Boston. Gotta say, one of the weirdest gigs I've ever had the pleasure of playing. There's this whole Elvis subculture out there that I had no clue existed.

There was a crap load of other Elvis imitators there in full regalia - fat ones, skinny ones, tall ones, short ones, ethnically represented, gay ones, straight ones - you name it. So we're on stage playing, and all the Elvis imitators surrounded the stage and were all holding hands and singing along with the band. I'll never forget that gig, I had an awesome time - your Elvis post reminded me of it

Foam Brewers

Pours beautiful hazy dark yellow with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thin lines of lace behind, with excellent retention. 4.75

Smell pineapple, papaya, tangerine, mango, apricot, and some pink grapefruit rind. Really special! 4.75

Taste follows tropical front to back with a bunch of tangerine, pineapple, mango, and papaya upfront and some slightly bitter apricot and grapefruit in the lip smacking finish, oh heck yes. 4.75

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, soft gentle feel on the palate, sticky from all the fresh hops but not dry, and 8.2% ABV goes down extremely easy. 5

Overall exactly what you would expect from one of the finest to brew a NEDIPA. World class grade sauce right here. 4.75
