Okay BAers, I will be in NYC from the 21st to the 29th. Staying on UES near Hunter College with family.

I know I am only a few blocks from the F train and can get to Other Half pretty easily.
    Couple of questions,
Were else can I get on the F or Q as they are closest to me. Speaking about breweries or great beer bars.
Was told LIC is on this line but the other direction.

I hung out at City Hops in 2017 when i was here, as it was waling distance and by fat could fit in there unlike the Geoffrey.... sooo Tiny...

I have been to Torst, Gingerman, Rattle and Hum, NYC beer shop (RIP).

What other places should I hit, im good with uber/lyft or hell walking?

Bar great Harry and owl farm are two Brooklyn places right off the F train. Both awesome. Same owners. Double Windsor is another and has a nice little beer shop called 209 across the street

Gold Star is a Brooklyn spot pretty close to the Q. Best beer bar in NYC in my opinion

There’s a bunch of others off the F since it takes you through the west village, East village, lower east side. New must visit spot is Grand Delancey. Right by the delancey F stop

Yeah +1 to east village spots. Take the 6 down to the east village and hit good beer, proletariat, and augur's well. Augur's well is a great bar that frequently have surprising options! From there get on the F and go out to Brooklyn. In Brooklyn near OH on the F you have Bar Great Harry and Folksbier brewing.

St. Gambrinus near barclay's center is right off your Q and is a great bar/bottle shop. Threes Brewing is near there as well.

LIC is the other direction but it is only 2 stops away from your F stop! You're so close and with Pile of Crowns dropping next week, they may have great draft options when you're in town.

If you're in NYC for 9 days and comfortable with taking the subway, then there's no reason to limit yourself to places along the F line. Go to wherever you want and transfer subway trains as needed. (Not that you'd have a bad time if you only went to places along the F)

+1 to augurs and proletariat. Some of my favorite bars in the city.

Honorable mentions (while not on the F line) are fools gold and one mile house.

If you do go to proletariat or augurs, I highly (highly!) suggest stopping by Bobwhite Corner for a fried chicken sandwich.

I've been going by ABC Beer Co. for years and have never stopped in. Sounds like I've been a fool.

Seriously? Its 20 inches away you fool!

Pro Tip: order the regular fried chicken sandwich and ask for the honey and buffalo sauce. That way you maximize the taste to bite ratio. Pairs well with MAC or collards and a shiner.

Fool's Gold is only a couple minutes on foot from the 2nd Ave F stop. A great option for OP if they don't have plans for the 25th as it's usually open. May have gotten drunk there last year after a dope Christmas dim sum meal.

Also saving Bobwhite for a future stop. Looks delicious.

That is true, I forgot. I’ve never taken the subway to Fools Gold as I usually walk there. One of my favorite bars in the city.

Definitely hit Bobwhite the next time you are in ABC.

I don’t think I’ve seen anybody mention Milk & Hops UES, great tap list and great to-go selection, and it’s just a couple blocks from City Hops.

The Jeffrey is a great bar but very narrow. Go early and grab a spot at the bar.

my in laws are based in UES part of the year (and in your state the rest of it). when I visit them, the other place I sometimes go to (besides city hops and jeffrey) is city swiggers. Don’t see if mentioned that often, and I only go like once a year. But have always found some decent things there. Like CH it’s a store with an on-premise component.

disclaimer is it’s probably been a year since I went there
