Sadly, no dice on these being released in Queens and BK as originally projected.

    When was that originally projected?

December 14th was the hope per this article (right at the end).

If we should have learned anything, it's that we always add at least 9 months onto the scheduled opening of a new brewery.

    Yup, it's always boiler issues...

Can any BQE veterans offer insight on what the release is like? Do the bottles go fast on release day and/or do pours last through the weekend?

Gone twice now. I think they used to sell out same day but people have gradually gotten less crazy about them. Last year I think at least one of the bottles lasted to Sunday or Monday. They had everything on for pours (and even some vintages for tasting). Suspect something similar this year - bottles to last a couple of days and pours of everything (& then some).

The line always moves incredibly slow.

Pretty much my only input as well. The line absolutely crawls. They have so many to-go can options, merch, etc in addition to the BQE that everyone takes a minute or more at check out.

They should just have one line for BQE and another for cans. Would make it much smoother.

They always have vintages on tap as well.

    Or water. Specifically, filtration.

Is finback definitely not releasing the BQEs in Brooklyn? I thought they planned to do a release before the brewery was “open.”

Not being sarcastic, but would you mind elaborating? I’ve always assumed boiler delays were attributable to getting a gas line hooked up, which is notoriously difficult in the NYC for all types of construction. Hadn’t heard anything about water filtration before.

I know on LI that was a big issue for the new Blue Point facility at the old Briarcliff College in Patchogue and the Town of Brookhaven. I’m not going to really get into it here but it delayed their opening and now has trickled down to a bunch of other newer breweries trying to open and they have been scrutinizing the already open breweries much more.

Could be an apples and oranges argument regarding NYC vs LI but it wouldn’t surprise me either way.

So I was not wrong about the chocolate coffee version - it’s a supped up BQE!

Also the salty caramel one does sound good. Pretzels are my favorite snack of all time.

Was really hoping for the base BQE, probably my favorite NYC Stout. Easy pass on Hazelnut/Banana/Pretzel, might stop for a pour of Coffee... assuming Single Barrel will be kicked before 2~

Probably about 50 people or so in line. It's crawling.

50 outside, but another 75+ inside waiting. They found a way to make it even slower than prior years, didn’t think it would be possible.
